Express Yourself is a ripoff of the Staples Singers “Respect Yourself”. Madonna never once stated the song was an homage or that she got permission to sample…..she ripped it off. So the freaking whore pot calling the kettle black makes me laugh.
Not only id the melody the same, the theme is more or less the same – both talking about self-empowerment, not being afraid of being who you want to be etc etc.. BTW is a blatant, watered down version of EY in every sense..
