Really sad. I knew that she had health problems. Wonderful wonderful wonderful singer. Please do not remember her as a 70s “one hit wonder.” She was much more than that. Listen to any of her albums. That voice. R I P.

Just an hour ago,I was listening to my favorite station (WMVY in Martha’a Vineyard) when the deejay announced that Phoebe Snow had just died this morning. I was so upset. I still remember the first time I heard Poetry Man in high school. Phoebe never got the musical props she deserved. Thank God for ‘MVY and other independent stations throughout the last 36 years. Phoebe, you definitely have a place in music heaven.

Takes me back to the days when female singers had to have real talent and not have to do a strip tease to be successful.

I loved her work. She was a true original. No one else sounded like her or wrote as beautifully.
