Sex fiends looking to get lucky on a first date could do worse than to head to Britain and loudly announce their fondness for Metallica and Nirvana.

That is the conclusion to be drawn from a new poll conducted by U.K. music and dating website tastebuds.fm. The site asked users “how far they’d likely go” on a first date and then collated the information to find out band’s fans were the most, and least, likely to go “all the way.”

Britney Spears and Nicki Minaj touring together? Yes, it's finally official

spears-minaj

After Enrique Iglesias begged off becoming an homme fatale — and denying us the much-coveted “Hold It Against Me”/“Tonight” mash-up — Britney Spears was left without an opening act for her huge upcoming tour.

After a few weeks of speculation and a lot of false starts, Spears finally confirmed this morning that chart-topping rapper Nicki Minaj will indeed join her on the road for the Femme Fatale tour. READ FULL STORY »

The track listing for the upcoming collabo-album from NKOTBSB was released today, but something about this fan-picked lineup has me wondering whether this album, out May 24, has the right stuff.  [Pause for pun applause...and flying tomatoes.]

In all seriousness, fans had no shortage of hits to choose from when they voted for the tracklisting. (They did so last month in a ten-day online voting spree.) But did they pick the right ones? Here’s a look at the full line-up: READ FULL STORY »

New Carla Bruni song for charity disc with Sheryl Crow, Roseanne Cash, and more: Hear it here -- EXCLUSIVE

Carla-Bruni

In the ’90s, glamazons Carla Bruni and Christy Turlington stalked the high-fashion catwalks and dated rock stars like it was their job—which, as supermodels, it sort of was.

Today, Turlington is a documentary filmmaker and activist for maternal health through her Every Mother Counts foundation, and Bruni is, famously, the First Lady of France, and also a platinum-selling singer-songwriter.

Now the two are reunited via Turlington’s (now Turlington Burns’) upcoming No Woman No Cry, a film following four at-risk pregnant women around the world.

Bruni, along with Patti Scialfa, Sheryl Crow, Angelique Kidjo, Roseanne Cash, and Martha Wainwright, contribute to the album, a companion piece to the documentary, which is set to premiere on the OWN Network on May 7.

Find Bruni’s gentle, lovely  “Le Loup, La Biche et Le Chevalier (Une Chanson Douce)” after the jump:

In one of the few measurable victories Ireland gets over Great Britain, U2 recently surpassed the Rolling Stones’ record for highest-grossing tour of all-time with their U2 360° Tour. Erin, go Brag!

England’s oldest hitmakers previously held the record after raking in $558 million from 2005 to 07 for their A Bigger Bang Tour, but U2—who are still touring behind their 2009 release No Line On the Horizon—are set to take in more than $700 million by the time U2 360 wraps in late July. With 26 shows to go, the Irish quarter are almost ready to get back to saving the world/destroying Broadway. READ FULL STORY »

Britney Spears gets around. This morning, she showed up on a remix of Rihanna’s “S&M,” and now she’s mashing it up with Adele.

Ashley Judd attacks hip-hop; hip-hop fights back

Ashley Judd’s recently-released memoir, All That Is Bitter & Sweet, was bound to upset certain people (mostly those who share her last name).

But she has a new enemy in Ahmir “?uestlove” Thompson, the drummer and mastermind behind the Roots (who you either know as the collective who completely changed hip-hop with 1999′s Things Fall Apart or as the house band for Late Night With Jimmy Fallon).

In a passage of her book specifically focusing YouthAIDS’ association with Diddy and Snoop Dogg, Judd wrote:

“YouthAIDS created hip public service announcements for TV and radio using popular local and international celebrities and athletes and was participating in the MTV World AIDS Day ‘Staying Alive’ concerts. Along with other performers, YouthAIDS was supported by rap and hip-hop artists like Snoop Dogg and P. Diddy to spread the message … um, who? Those names were a red flag. As far as I’m concerned, most rap and hip-hop music—with its rape culture and insanely abusive lyrics and depictions of girls and women as ‘ho’s'—is the contemporary soundtrack of misogyny.” READ FULL STORY »

Chris Brown and Joe Jonas team up in the studio, prove it on Twitter

Chris Brown scored himself a number one album with the recently-released F.A.M.E., which sold 270,000 its first week out, only 5,000 fewer units than Britney Spears’ Femme Fatale debut.

But with the whole Good Morning America fiasco casting an entirely new cloud of menace around Brown, he still needs a pretty intense infusion of image rehab.

Enter Joe Jonas, whose squeaky-clean Disney image might be just the thing Brown needs to stay on the straight and narrow. The two spent some time in the studio over the weekend alongside producer Hit-Boy (crafter of bangers for Nicki Minaj and Pusha T), who tweeted the photo of the three of them. “@joejonas @HitBoy_SC @chrisbrown just did a smash! Whooo,” the producer wrote. And yes, The windows/”smash” correlation did occur to us, but sometimes we like to let these things slide.

The team-up will likely be appearing on the middle JoBro’s upcoming solo debut. Fans have already gotten a taste of Joe on his own with “Make It Right,” but considering the personnel involved, the new track promises to be a lot more hard-hitting. (That one you can have for free.)

Jonas told EW that his solo joint wouldn’t be “a cheesy pop record,” and he recently confessed to Details that he wanted to make music that could get played in a club. It appears as though he’s on his way.

Who do you think benefits most from the Brown/Jonas tag-team? Does Joe pick up some street cred or does CB re-earn the trust of teen girls everywhere? Pick your side in the comments below.

Rihanna teams up with Britney Spears for 'S&M' remix: Hear it here

Britney-Spears-Rihanna

Rihanna’s “S&M” is by far one of the most suggestive pop singles of 2011, so how do you make it even more naughty? Add Britney Spears.

The pair teamed up for a remix of the track that dropped earlier this morning on New York City radio station Z100. “In order to do a remix, it had to be major,” Rihanna explained to morning show host Elvis Duran during an interview just after the song’s premiere. “I asked my fans last week who they really wanted me to collaborate with, and Britney was one of the most popular names. Britney doesn’t do features, and it was really amazing that she wanted to be a part of this song.” Check out the track after the jump.

Kanye West, 30 Seconds to Mars among new nominees for MTV OMAs -- EXCLUSIVE

kanye-gaga

MTV already has the VMAs and its own movie awards, and now they’re going for the trifecta with the OMAs.

The O Music Awards (the “O” stands for … whatever you’d like it to stand for) celebrate the best in the digital music world and contain some delightfully off-kilter categories like Best NSFW Video and Favorite F— Yeah Tumblr.

Most of the nominations were announced last week (Lady Gaga and Odd Future frontman Tyler, the Creator lead all artists with three nominations each), but in the spirit of democracy, MTV left the door open for a handful of fan-voted nominations in several categories.

Kanye West has guaranteed himself an OMA, as his greatness on Twitter has necessitated the invention of an entirely new category honoring Best Tweet. Each of the five nominations belongs to West, including “I have decided to become the best rapper of all time! I put it on my things to do in this lifetime list!” and “Dating models I had to learn to like small dogs and cigarettes.”

West also picked up fan-voted nominations for Best Fan Forum (for kanyetothe.com) and for Best Animated GIF (for “Kanye Smile, Then Angry”).

Other benefactors of the fan nomination process include Trey Songz (Favorite F— Yeah Tumblr and Fan Army FTW), 30 Seconds to Mars (Best NSFW Video for “Hurricane”) and Adam Lambert (Must Follow Artist on Twitter). The awards will be handed out online on April 28.

Follow the jump for the complete list of nominees, with the new fan-approved additions in italics.
