Singer-songwriter Duncan Sheik’s career has carried on from his ’90s “Barely Breathing” days on the pop charts to triumph on Broadway penning the music for the Tony-sweeping musical Spring Awakening.
He’s recently paired again with his Spring writing partner Steven Sater on a new Alice in Wonderland musical for the stage, but in the meantime, Sheik’s most current collaboration is with an entire decade of synth-pop heartbreak: His Covers 80s will be released June 7, taking on songs from the likes of The Smiths, Tears for Fears, Dépêche Mode, Thompson Twins, New Order, The Cure, and Love and Rockets.

It’s “Love Vigilantes.” And, IMO, his version’s a snoozer…
All his work has a tendency to be snoozers.
Hans M. I have to agree BIG snooze fest!
Not bad, but I like the Iron & Wine cover better.
Nice version but I agree with Alex. Iron and Wine is pure gold.
Oh, that’s bad. Not “Friday” bad, but it’s pretty bad.
Why bother with Duncan or I&W? New Order’s original is still amazing and the best. I loved it from the moment I first heard it, as a kid in the record store the day “Low Life” came out.
I’ve heard a few of these already…the Tears for Fears cover is wonderfully stark.
The comparations are hateful, but still it´s a great cover.
I loved it! Can’t wait to hear the entire album!
Iron and Wine version of Love Vigilantes is 10x better than this Sheik-snoozer.
Interesting post and view, hope to hear more what the future holds THANKS Great post. Probably saved thousands of hours between everybody here. For me,this clearly is a heads up on which methods to focus on to maximise my online success . I¡¯ll start concentrating on your other articles instead. Really great advice. Thanks for sharing.
I do consider all of the ideas you have presented for your post. They’re really convincing and will certainly work. Still, the posts are too short for starters. Could you please prolong them a little from next time? Thank you for the post.
