Lady Gaga makes debut as V magazine columnist, quotes Picasso, endorses George Foreman grill

Lady Gaga is giving James Franco some serious competition as pop culture’s greatest multi-tasker.

She’s the creative director for Polaroid. She’s accepted an internship with Princess Eugenie’s hat-maker Philip Treacy. She’s exchanged tweets with Harry Reid about ending Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell. Oh, and she’s the biggest pop star on the planet. (She’s even ahead of me in my Star Wars reading!)

Her latest venture? Magazine columnist. The new issue of glossy mag V features a Gaga-penned manifesto on fashion, pop culture, “body modification” and artistic thievery, with more obscure references than a trivia night hosted by Quentin Tarantino and Diablo Cody. Case in point, this name-dropping gem about her early aspirations: “I would dream of being a rock star who dressed like Mark Bolan [sic], walked like Jerry Hall, and had the panache of Ginger from Casino and the mystery of Isabella Blow.” READ FULL STORY »

Steven Tyler's new '(It) Feels So Good' video: Watch it here

Back in the day, no band was a bigger deal in the video world than Aerosmith.

Each one of their hits got a jaw-dropping video that either brought narratives to life (the spooky, intense “Janie’s Got a Gun”) or indulged in sweaty rock and roll fantasies (basically anything that starred Alicia Silverstone). They were a definitive music video band, and they have the MTV Moonman trophies to prove it.

So did frontman Steven Tyler add to his band’s majestic legacy with his solo clip for “(It) Feels So Good,” which just premiered? Decide for yourself after the jump:

'Glee': Hear the New Directions' haunting cover of 'Pure Imagination' -- EXCLUSIVE

Last week’s episode of Glee definitely tugged at the heart strings, particularly the crowning of Kurt as Prom Queen and Blaine asking Kurt to dance. (My eyes are welling up just thinking about it again!)

Now, I’m told that next Tuesday’s installment, ominously titled “Funeral,” is one of Glee‘s most emotional hours to date. Uh oh.

Clearly something intense happens based on this cover of “Pure Imagination,” which EW is exclusively premiering today. New Directions puts their own spin on the track, originally sung in the 1971 classic Will Wonka & the Chocolate Factory, for the episode which has been rumored to feature the death of someone or something.  Listen below to the haunting version: READ FULL STORY »

“Whoah-oh-oh-oh!”

That’s the noise Kings of Leon fans should be making when they watch the band performing their spiraling 2007 Because of the Times tune “Knocked Up” (and, yes, it’s also the sound frontman Caleb Followill makes in the course of said number).

The clip is an exclusive outtake culled from a two-hour set the band performed for their VH1 Storytellers show, which kicks off a new season this Friday, May 13 at 11 p.m. ET. Check out it out here: READ FULL STORY »

Rapper Common's White House invitation makes Sarah Palin, Fox News go crazy

Common is about the least controversial rapper in the business. He’s roughly as edgy as LeVar Burton. He’s the rap version of Wayne Brady. He’s a friendly, easy-going, cross-cultural musician and actor who stars in easygoing rom-coms with Queen Latifah, only appears menacing to Tina Fey and Steve Carrell on celluloid, and is typically the first person mentioned whenever anybody brings up the concept of a “conscious” MC.

But don’t tell that to FOX News and Sarah Palin.

They and other conservative outlets are expressing outrage today that the Chicago-born artist (born Lonnie Rashid Lynn, Jr.) will be a guest at the White House tonight as part of an evening celebrating poetry, hosted by Michelle Obama. READ FULL STORY »

Beyonce reveals album title, talks about splitting with dad manager in new interview

Beyonce-November

Beyoncé looks typically fancé on the brand-new cover of Billboard magazine (see her Dandridge-meets-disco look here).

The title of her upcoming album, though, is decidedly basic: It’s 4, as in … yes, her fourth solo album. But she says it has other significance, too: “We all have special numbers in our lives, and 4 is that for me. It’s the day I was born. My mother’s birthday, and a lot of my friends’ birthdays, are on the fourth; April 4 is my wedding date.”

Also revealed in the interview? READ FULL STORY »

Beyoncé teases revolutionary battle for 'Run the World (Girls)' video: Watch clip here

We’re just days away from Beyoncé releasing what promises to be an epic video for the first single from “Run the World (Girls).,” her upcoming album.

Last night, the R&B diva dropped another teaser for the clip. In it there appears to be an army of men prepping to go to war with female soldiers for a worldwide battle of the sexes.

Beyoncé, of course, would be the leader of the ladies. And if the title of the song is any indication, they’ll probably be the victors—dancing the gents into oblivion. Check it out:

'Winning': Sheen's catchphrase spawns a rap collaboration with Snoop Dogg

As The Sheen will tell you, “winning” isn’t just the opposite of losing. It’s a way of life. And a line of t-shirts. And it could be, according to Jimmy Fallon, a fragrance. Well, Sheen’s “winning” dictum has taken one more step from being a mere internet meme to being added to the OED as hashtagged slang. His Sheenness has collaborated with none other than Snoop Dogg to drop a #winning-inspired rap, whose download proceeds will apparently be donated to assist those affected by last month’s tornadoes in the South. Take a listen to the NSFW track below:
