Mary J. Blige, Kelly Rowland, and Trey Songz to perform at 2011 BET Awards on June 26 -- EXCLUSIVE

Mary J. Blige, Kelly Rowland, and Trey Songz are the latest artists set to perform at the 2011 BET Awards, EW has learned exclusively. Additionally, Cee-Lo Green will also make a “special appearance” at the show, which will air live from L.A.’s Shrine Auditorium on June 26 on cable network BET.

BET has already announced some talent for the telecast, including host Kevin Hart, Lifetime Achievement Award honoree Patti LaBelle, Humanitarian Award honoree Steve Harvey.

Drake, Lil’ Wayne, Chris Brown, Alicia Keys, and Jill Scott have also been previously confirmed to be performing. Nominees for the show’s awards — including Chris Brown, Lil Wayne, Kanye West, and Nicki Minaj — were revealed last month.

Actually looking forward to this year’s line-up! Should be a good show!

Whatever @ this lineup. Where is Rihanna on this list. She’s black and nominated but is never invited by BET to perform. I don’t recall her ever performing her entire career. Please correct me if I’m wrong.

I think Rihanna may have performed a couple of years ago….I think the year Chris Brown and Ciara danced together. Maybe they have invited her before and she turned them down.

@ari is right, she performed Take A Bow.

Why are you assuming that Rihanna was not asked? She is on tour perhaps she has a concert on that night have you ever thought of that?

Anyway, this show is going to be EPIC all of my favs will be performing Chris Brown, Beyonce (via satelite from the UK), Lil Wayne. Now if they could only get the new Queeen of Blue-Eyed Soul (Adele) to sing, I would be a happy wreck!! :-)

I really don’t think it is BET’s fault that Rihanna haven’t been in the lineup. I believe she turn them down ALOT. BET always invite her to be on 106th and Park and her videos do pretty well there. So I know they invite her to be on the Award Shows but it is up to the artist to respond. Plus it could be that the dates of the Awards Show could be schedule on the same day as a concert or appearance of hers. IDK, but Rihanna is one of the biggest stars and they difinely wouldn’t leave her out.

BTW, She was on the show a couple of times.

Though I’m glad that for once Kelly Rowland has a bigger Urban hit than Beyonce…I do think its in VERY POOR taste that she can clear her schedule to perform at the BET Awards but has canceled appearances at gay Pride events in both Orlando and DC the se last few weekends, all the while maintaining its due to being hired as a judge for the UK Xfactor. Kinda sad how she has screwed over her gay fans but is happily showing up for her Urban fans….

Phil, although I was disappointed at Kelly for cancelling Orlando and DC appearances at Pride….do know that she showed up at Miami Sizzle (gay event) and LA Pride where she performed. Last year she did Pride events as well. Kelly loves us gays… She’s just going for hers… I’m glad that she’s doing the BET Awards. Very happy for her.

Well Phil, her career has had her jet-setting between the UK & the US. She needs to perform on the BET Awards (she is a R&B artist with a new CD on the horizon) it would be nice if she were able to attend a few other events!

LOL, I wonder if Cee Lo is going to bring his magical spinning piano?:-)

i dont get y they have the same performers as last yr. but im glad to see kelly rowland getting some shine

  • fancypants

I’m glad Alicia Keys is performing! I wonder if she’ll debut a new song.

  • kay

I’m so glad that the stripper/porn star Rihanna isn’t performing! This is one of the biggest award shows and she’s not going to be there, how great! “Man Down” is flopping from the left to right and because she’s on tour, she couldn’t attend. Now we can finally see Chris perform and accept awards withou tbeing backlashed! I can’t wait for Kelly to do her thing! She needs to show the world that it’s her time to shine. WTH is Beyawnce going to perform? That wack ass flop single GRTW?
