I used to love Metallica. I even liked the much-maligned Load and Reload. But the Napster flap killed it for me. They’re nothing more another corporate machine. I do hope the album is worth listening to, but I’ve lost the excitement for Metallica.

  • Why?

    Why?
    *shakes head in dispair….*

That second paragraph is one of the most embarrassingly bad things I’ve ever read. Same goes for that stupid final sentence. But hey, what we have here is a story about a press release. What else could the writer have done except reprint the whole thing and toss off some weak hybrid-song jokes? Good grief.

Lou Reed & Lars in a room together? That is a douchefest of epic proportions. PASS.

Did anyone here actually listen to Death Magnetic? I’ll agree St. Anger was a massive pile of excrement, and the whole Napster debacle put a sour taste in my mouth too, but Death Magnetic was a true return to form in my opinion. When all the cylinders are firing, no one compares to Metallica. I wish them well.

This will be exciting to hear Metallica and Lou Reed on an album together. I’m sure it will rock hard!

Metallica have covered Queen, Seger, Blue Oyster Cult — they’ve always respected their musical elders. To me, it seems like they’re a bit pedestrian for Reed to work with. I’m a pre-black alum fan who’s only gotten through Death Magnetic once. But I’m curious to hear this.

Anybody who says metallica is wased up has not seen a live shown because I was at the Big 4 in Indio and they were great. Also never got the sell out label the would sel more records if they just made another Master of Puppets…And if we are going to talk about selling out why does nobody ever bring up the fact that Megadeth has released 6 best of albums…..To me re releasing old stuff 6 times screams give me all your money.
