Yesterday Chicago rhymer Lupe Fiasco dipped his slip-on shoes into the mud during a routine interview on CBS’ What’s Trending with Shira Lazar to promote his recent (and well-liked by EW) album LASERS, calling fellow Chicagoan and U.S. President Barack Obama a terrorist.

Read what he said after the jump.

Scotty McCreery's second single 'Out of Summertime' leaks online

Well, that was fast.

American Idol champ Scotty McCreery’s first single, “I Love You This Big,” has only been out for about two weeks, but what’s likely to be his second single, “Out of Summertime,” has already leaked on the internet.

Based purely on a few cursory listens, there’s big potential in his latest effort. Compared to “This Big,” “Summertime” is more uptempo, with twangy runs that would tickle nearly anyone at a county fair. And that’s just about right: Scotty intones in the song, “What we felt on that ferris wheel, was just too right and just too real.”

Surprise: It’s a love song! Nods to the title comes early and often in the song, too: “She could have been mine, but we ran out of summertime.” But the seasonal references don’t stop there: “She was hot as July, sweet as sunshine.”

Armed with that fair-weather formula and McCreery’s currently hot status, “Summertime” certainly has the opportunity to burn up the country charts during the coming, hot months.

Eminem adds Lady Gaga and Justin Bieber to his diss list

Eminem

Eminem has spent roughly 65 percent of his legendary career making fun of famous people. It could even be said that you’re not truly a pop-culture icon until Slim Shady takes you down a notch—though that doesn’t necessarily mean you’ll stay famous, as Chris Kirkpatrick can attest.

So it should come as no surprise that Mr. Mathers has taken aim at Lady Gaga on one of the tracks for his forthcoming album Hell: The Sequel (a tag-team effort with Royce 5’9″ under the name Bad Meets Evil).

On the song “A Kiss,” Em spits the line “Tell Lady Gaga she can quit her job at the post office/ She’s already a male lady/ Wouldn’t f— her with her d—/ The verdict’s in.” Check out the song here:

Lady Antebellum's new album 'Own The Night' coming September 13 -- will it live up to 'Need You Now'?

Lady-Antebellum

Lady Antebellum‘s second album, Need You Now, gradually built from modest Nashville success to bona fide cross-genre phenomenon.

How big was Need? Sure, the numbers tell the tale (three chart-topping singles, three million copies sold, five Grammys), but the truly impressive stat is that the title track was such a massive hit that the band played it on the Grammy Awards telecast two years in a row.

So what will they do for an encore? The band just announced that their third album will be called Own the Night (presumably, it won’t have anything to do with this terrible Mark Wahlberg movie) and will be released on September 13. The first single “Just a Kiss” has already been unleashed (it debuted on American Idol and entered the Billboard Hot 100 at number seven), with more to come.

The trick for Lady Antebellum will be avoiding the dreaded sophomore slump (sure, it’s their third album, but the first one since they became a household name). So how should they do it? READ FULL STORY »

Shakira gets sexy (when doesn't she?) and pole dances in 'Rabiosa' video: Watch here

Can’t say I literally understand what Shakira’s saying on her new single, “Rabiosa.”

But whatever’s coming between her sensual coos and the moves she’s pulling off in its video (“Come, pull me closer,” I hear) is okay with me.

After taking dips in a bathtub-turned-ball-pit at a party, she hits the pole—and sheds the wig she’s been using to hide her signature blonde mane—on this Latin-infused reggaeton track. Of course, the results are worth a look (or seven).

Check out the video for “Rabiosa” after the jump.

Selena Gomez clowns her ex, gives her new man props on 'Bang Bang Bang': Listen here

Selena Gomez is pissed, sexy, and in love all at once on her new single, “Bang Bang Bang.”

“My new boy really likes to flaunt this/ He’s not hiding me, you know/ He’s showing me off, you know,” she coos on the ’80s-esque electro-dance cut.

Could she be talking about ex Nick Jonas—whose own JoBros released the similar moving-on diss track “Much Better” in 2009, purportedly comparing brother Joe’s former love Taylor Swift and more recent paramour Camilla Belle? We do know that Selena’s current beau Justin Bieber has no problem puckering up in public.

Selena Gomez & the Scene’s next album, When the Sun Goes Down, hits stores June 28. Check out the followup to her first single after the jump.

Nicki Minaj wants to act with Will Smith, get directed by Tim Burton

Nicki-Minaj

As noted yesterday, Nicki Minaj walks away with Kanye West’s just-released “Monster” video just like she does the song; in playing two different versions of herself, she manages to hit on a dozen or so different aspects of her personality.

If you ask Minaj herself, nobody should be surprised that her acting chops are top-notch: “I went to school to be an actress. I never expected to be a rapper. It just fell in my lap,” she told Entertainment Weekly at Sunday’s MTV Movie Awards. “So I would like to get an acting gig. I hope that when I am done with the tour I can go back and do some acting. That is my long-term goal.”

The Gathering of the Juggalos trailer has arrived: Aliens, clowns, Vanilla Ice and Busta Rhymes

When you woke up this morning, did you realize that it was going to be the best Internet day of the year?

We’ve had the announcement of Apple’s iCloud, a hilarious video starring a UFC fighter and this amazing gallery of cats trying to keep cool in bodegas.

But it’s mostly a great day because the Insane Clown Posse have unleashed their  infomercial announcing the lineup for the 2011 Gathering of the Juggalos.

This particular piece of Internet video has grown in legend in the last few years, going from a simple green screen recitation of band names to the epic, sci-fi-channeling gem you see below. Heck, they’ve even been parodied by Saturday Night Live. (Twice!)

Hit the jump for the nearly half-hour clip, which opens with a Star Wars-style text crawl and stars Vanilla Ice. You will not be disappointed:

Gwen Stefani and No Doubt on their next step - EXCLUSIVE

GWEN-STEFANI

It has been nearly 10 years since No Doubt dropped their last studio album, Rock Steady; five years since singer Gwen Stefani dropped her last solo album The Sweet Escape; and two years since the group reunited for a big summer tour.

But Job-like No Doubt fans are about to be rewarded: Stefani, guitarist Tom Dumont, bassist Tony Kanal and drummer Adrian Young sat down with Entertainment Weekly in Santa Monica this past weekend to chat about where they’ve been—and where they’re going.

And while we’re keeping the big news a secret for now (you can read the whole interview in this week’s coming issue, which is on newsstands this Friday), Stefani did tell us that the days of her being a solo artist are probably over.

“That was a moment in time,” Stefani said firmly when asked about the future of her solo career. “It went on a little longer than we all thought it would, because it was inspired and you have to go with wherever you’re at in that time in your life … [But] everything works out how it should.”

For the rest of the No Doubt’s revelations—including how life has changed since they now have nine(!) kids onboard between them, and what they think of the current state of the music industry—check out this week’s issue.

And in the meantime, let us know in the comments section below if you’ll miss the solo version of Stefani, and hollaback if you still spell out “B-A-N-A-N-A-S” every time you’re in the produce aisle. (Or maybe that’s just us?)
