The three former members of Destiny’s Child are keeping busy these days.
Beyoncé just topped the Billboard 200 with her latest release 4; Kelly Rowland has been doing well with the release of her single “Motivation,” featuring Lil Wayne; and today, Michelle Williams dropped a new single,”Love Gun,” which is set to be included on her upcoming fourth studio album, slated for a fall release.
While Williams focused on gospel on her first two solo albums, the synth-laden “Love Gun” has a similar vibe to the dancey tracks on her last album, Unexpected, which spawned two hit dance singles in “We Break the Dawn”—actually, a personal fave of mine—and “The Greatest.”
Williams calls “Love Gun” “inspirational pop.” “Think of Katy Perry’s ‘Firework’ or Natasha Bedingfield’s ‘Unwritten,’” she said in a statement. “Music with a message but at the same time fun and will get people dancing.”

I like the sound of it, but her voice is autotuned like crazy. She never sounded like that in DC or on her singles. And the girl can actually sing — she doesn’t have a killer voice like Beyonce or Kelly, but definitely better than this. Heck, I can carry a tune, and I could have sang this song knowing autotune was going to cushion me.

I like this song, but I don’t like the mix. I hope this is an unfinished cut. She’s got a good voice, let’s hope she get’s to shine this year… Just like Kelly Rowland will on July 26th when her CD drops!
I wish her the best, but I don`t know! maybe she need to go back to school, because I don`t think the music game is for her. Her last album didn`t do well.
I loved Michelle’s last album from 2008, very dance heavy and fun! I think she wants to have a hit just like Kelly Rowland’s No. 1 R&B hit Motivation and Beyonce’s just released album. I think the timing has been good for each of the Destiny’s Child members because there are fans of each of those singers. I think she’s going for a theme similar to Katy Perry’s Firework with the inspring message over dance beats.
The music sounds very David Guetta-ish with its dance groove. But it works and Michelle actually sounds good vocally in the mix. It does get into your mental senses with the way the keyboards and drum patterns clash together in the song as well as Michelle’s singing. But I hear more of her own voice up front as well as the Autotune–it’s 50-50 the way they do it in the song.
Very weak song. We Break The Dawn was a bit more interesting. Michelle hasn’t made it as strongly as a solo act. She should go back into Gospel for awhile.
To the mean ugly cow aka Lisa G, Michelle Williams has more talent than you’ll ever have in your pathetic life and her bank account is loaded, way more than yours. The song is actually good but I’m sure she can do better if she actually wants to make an impact on the charts alongside Kelly and Beyonce

Her voice is fantastic and Unexpected, her last album, is one of the best albums ever! You don’t know what you’re missing, really.
It’s very mediocre. Not single worthy.
