Regarding Brand’s comment, “We need to review the way society treats addicts, not as criminals but as sick people in need of care,” strikes me as odd, in relation to Winehouse. Nobody tried to get her help? Of course they did. The problem was, she didn’t want it.
Why would anyone who supposedly cared so little about her or her music take out the time to read this article and then make a comment? Why bother? Your scorn for her is laughable given that she was at least important enough that you took the time to read it and comment. You laugh at her disease, her struggle, her talent, and her death. If you care so little, why waste your time?
GENIUS???
I think that’s taking it a bit far. It was her voice that made her stand out. She had great vocal chords, but genius??? How did her genius manifest??? What an over used word today!! Very few people are genius’. Its like the overused word “awesome”. That gets right on my nerves. Everything today is awesome or inspiring of awe. I think not. I liked Amy dont get me wrong. But she was no genius for christs sake.
Genius? She released, what, one decent album? Give me a break…
