
After thirteen years, five albums, countless side projects, and nearly as many famous-person plus-ones, beloved indie rock outfit Rilo Kiley have finally called it quits.
And apparently, they have not gone softly into that L.A./Omaha night. When asked back in April to describe the state of the then-on-hiatus band, guitarist Blake Sennett responded: “I would say that if Rilo Kiley were…hmmm…a human being…hmmm…he’s probably laying on his back in a morgue with a tag on his toe. Now, I see movies where the dead get up and walk. And when they do that, rarely do good things happen.”
And today, Spinner.com quotes Sennett as saying of the split: “I just felt like there was a lot of deception, disloyalty, greed and things I don’t really want to submit myself to. I had related that frustration to music but I just thought, ‘I’m not going to put myself in that position again,’ so I said, ‘F— that, I can’t do this anymore.’” READ FULL STORY »
