A few people feared for the worst when Justin Bieber first tweeted that he’d be working with bad boy Chris Brown last December. The two’s collab wound up being the gushy love cut “Next to You,” where they crooned that they’d stick by their girls through thick and thin. But this week a new cut with J.B. and Breezy features them singing rapping a different tune.
Before your head explodes, know that even though they’re known as pop singers, they’ve both dabbled with delivering their words in hip-hop fashion before. Brown even scored a smash this year as a rapper with “Look at Me Now,” rhyming alongside veterans Lil Wayne and Busta Rhymes.
And Bieber hopped on one of 2010′s hottest rap cuts, Vado’s “Speaking in Tungs,” and laced it with his own Tom Brady-dissing freestyle.
This time around, Bieber joins Brown on “Ladies Love Me,” a cut from Brown’s new (and first rap-focused) mixtape Boy in Detention. The David Banner-produced cut finds them rhyming about what they know best: girls, money, and toys. Listen to it after the jump.
“My bad/ I’m sorry/ I’m double-parked/ Yeah, that’s my Bugatti,” Brown raps from the top. The Biebs follows up brashly. “Baby, I’m not crazy/ I got swag like Patrick Swayze,” he claims. Then he goes on to describe what he’s wearing: “Louis V. high-tops with the skinny jeans.”
To their credit, they’re both solid rappers. though visions of them singing and doing choreographed dances still cloud our thoughts. What do you think of their raps? This about as interesting as using ice cream for a milkshake and thinking you’ve created some new dessert! Most of the track is based off “Look At Me Now” which, yes, was the biggest hit off of Brown’s “F.A.M.E.” so far, but thats because it was a huge Urban hit.
Pop stations didn’t spin “Next 2 You” or his collabo “Up” with Bieber from his “Never Say Never (The Remixes)”. And hip-hop programmers won’t spin Bieber, so really how are these collabos furthering their career? Answer :They’re not.
Not loving this trend of Chris Brown working with teen idols who are adored by impressionable young ladies.
Lizzen – please what does Chris Brown do but influence the next generation of fans. He’s the perfect example of what everyone what’s and what every woman should fear. The sad part – is that the parents let their kids adore no talent, brainless, teen idols – like faker Justin Bieber – yeah he’s douchy or Miley I’m a tattoo -queen that smokes selvia because its healthy.
