Cee Lo Green is a busy man.
Between coaching on The Voice, playing sets at Lollapalooza, producing a new Goodie Mob album, singing on the Footloose soundtrack, and smashing a giant piñata filled with M&M’s, he hardly has time to star in a new music video for his single, “Cry Baby.”
So he just didn’t!
Instead, Jaleel White—otherwise known as Family Matters‘ Steve Urkel—plays him in this upbeat 1950s-inspired clip, which features enough pastel sweater vests to feel like an early episode of The Sing-Off. (Green claims he didn’t even know the video was being made.) Who knew breaking up could feel so joyous?

EW, you don’t have to call him Urkel…he has been in a lot of things since then. Psych, Dreamgirls, Judy Moody and the Not Bummer Summer. I have a lot of respect for him..he could have gone the way of Skreech.

Jaleel is surprisingly good in this video.
And according to Cee Lo’s twitter account, he didn’t enlist Jaleel. Cee Lo was pleasantly surprised that Jaleel was in it.

I think the label feels the album is being eclipsed by the success of “F**k You” . With remixes featuring Wiz Khalifa (“Bright Lights Bigger City”) and Melanie Thornton (“Fool For You”) and now a video shot for another single without Cee lo’s knowledge… I just feel they’re starting to get desperate for another song to hit, but I honestly thought BLBC shoulda been a huge pop follow up. That was my fave song off the album as soon as I got it.
Absolutely agree with you. “Bright Lights Bigger City” and “Love Gun” were the stand-outs to me on my first listen.
Do you mean Melanie Fiona (Fool For You) that girl can sing, it is definetly not Melanie Thornton who I believe was in the Pussycat Dolls who can not sing. Love that song
