Maroon 5, Christina Aguilera pay homage to Mick's dancing, longevity in 'Moves Like Jagger' video: Watch it here

When Maroon 5 and Christina Aguilera dropped their collaborative single “Moves Like Jagger” last month, did anybody doubt that the video would feature a parade of people shaking, strutting, and dancing like the legendary Rolling Stones frontman?

That’s exactly what the team delivered in the clip that premiered last night.

But the video for “Moves Like Jagger” (directed by Jonas Akerlund, who has also pointed a camera at things for Lady Gaga and Britney Spears) also adds a shirtless Adam Levine (you know, for the ladies) and quite a few women channeling the spirit of Kelly Rowland (because let’s face it, that’s how Mick would have wanted it).

Check out the video after the jump, though be warned that because of the errant nipples, it should probably be considered NSFW (unless, of course, you work for ABC).

Of course, leave it to Mick to steal the whole show with the well-worn interview clip where he says he can’t believe the Rolling Stones have been a band for two years and that he only expects to last another year.

The drop-ins of Jagger dancing in between the fresh clips of people pulling off his moves are a healthy reminder that Mick has been shaking around for the better part of five decades. Perhaps bopping your head like a chicken and busting out jump kicks is the secret to eternal youth? If that’s true, then David Lee Roth is probably going to outlive us all.

What do you think of the new video? Do you agree that it enhances the song? And is it a little weird that Christina Aguilera is barely in it, and then she doesn’t even do the Jagger strut when she finally shows up?

Fun. I didn’t want to like this song, but it’s pretty infectious. Any song/video that longs for the day when we had real rock n roll stars is ok by me.

I got a Scott Weiland vibe from Adam more than Jagger. Maybe I need to have more of an open mind than “skinny guy w/tats dancing”…

  • Ms. Chanandler Bong

This song is an abomination! And I LOVE cheesy pop music.

  • Regina Fillangey

    I think it’s fun!

  • Barry

Another group trying to make money off of the Stones.

    • Liam

Well, the Stones made plenty of money ripping off a sound that they didn’t create. Sounds fair to me.

Maroon 5 can do no wrong in my book. They are my fave current band, Ive seen them almost every tour, I’ve met them…they can do no wrong in my book. Went to their show in Camden, Nj/Philadelphia Friday night. They didn’t take the stage until 10:15pm but Train and Gavin DeGraw (pre-attack) were on before them. They opened with “Moves Like Jagger” and blasted into a straight hour of hit singles and didn’t ONCE do an album filler until “Stutter” at 11:05pm…and thats Ok with me cause when they debuted that song last summer, I thought it shoulda been a single and was one of my fave songs off “Hands All Over”. Maybe they will release that next? In any event the video matches the spirit of the song…and may educate a few youngin’s in the process!
Its one of the best songs of the summer and along with Foster The People made pop music with a whistle FUN again this summer.

I would probably love this song even more if Christina wasn’t singing on it. I love Maroon 5, but I’m not really a big fan of hers, I don’t really care for the overly belted big note style of singing she does. Have to add, man is Adam HOT.

    • Amy

Adam is highly attractive, but I’d prefer him without the tattoos.

    • k

lol. Does the 30 seconds that she’s featured on really bother you that much? And she ain’t “overly belting” on this song at all. She sounds great here, in my opinion.

  • Leigh

I have no problem with Christina, but I also just saw them live and they opened with this song and I liked it very much without her.. Im pretty sure Adam just sung her part…love the video though

    • genius

Ugh, I would rather her Christina sing than him.

  • Angie

Sorry, Adam Levine, you will never be Mick Jagger. Only Jagger moves like Jagger.

    • Liam

Sorry Angie, you will never contribute anything of value that would warrant media coverage.

      • Angie

        You showed me, didn’t you?

  • Titina

    LOVE it.
This song is my summer jam!
    The video is great too.
    Adam Levine shirtless: WINNING!

    • Ryan

I agree! It’s catchy and fun and infectious and just makes me want to dance. You can’t be in a bad mood to this song!

  • dvnovert

totally fun summer song and video…it’s totally going to be a party at the clubs with all the dancing and bright colors and confetti with this playing onall of the monitors! Adam=Dreamy! Xtina=Fabulous! Mick=Sexy Legend!

I have to say, i really don’t think Maroon 5 can do wrong. HOWEVER, i think this video would have been better without boobs popping up out of nowhere. Sinking a little low for me. Can’t they all just wear clothes? As gorgeous and I find Adam, if it have to see girls boobies because I see his, i’d rather him wear a shirt. Let’s be fair. If i didn’t add that, you would just think i’m a hater.

  • Lorenzo

    Love it!!!

  • denise

Anything related to Mick Jagger and the Stones already starts off cooler.
