Her voice is fantastic, but the song is generic. Same old sound and a bland video with typical posing. Another one rolling off the Pop Star factory conveyor belt. It’s a shame because she’s got the fire in her belly and the talent, but she’ll probably get lost in the crowd with material like that.
I think all the young girls need to focus more on there music and deliverance instead of the sexual theme they all seem to use, I enjoy hearing the story with there voice not watching them play sexy with there hair and body.
She’s got the voice, she’s got the looks, give her a song that combine these two and a drop-dead video and she’ll top the charts. C’mon America. Better still Pia, write a song and show America you got IT and more.
I’m not sure how far Toscano will go. It’s like when she was on Idol – I keep thinking I am seeing a Miss America contestant in the “talent show part”. The songs are bland, the voice is good..but she doesn’t move well and doesn’t give any great charisma off.
Contrast that to performers on Idol people were naturally DRAWN to. You know, you could skip McPhee, but HAD to watch Consantine & Taylor Hicks. You may not have liked Fantasia or Allison or Adam Lambert – but you didn’t feel like you saw the show if you went out of the room when they performed. Haley Reinhart was interesting and always capable of a best of the night show. I found Elliot Yamin and Siobhan Magnus Interesting, charismatic – even on a flawed night. Same with Brooke White.
Pia Toscano – meh! Nice voice, but not someone that is really new & unique. Miss America contestant #71 with looks and singing talent.
She has a good voice but the only great thing about this video is how it made me think of the masterpiece that is Network. “I’m as mad as hell, and I’m not going to take this anymore!” – Howard Beale
I’m a fan. I think she is a sweet heart. Ya she is hot and has this NY jersey girl look. But I see something more. The stiffness is still there…but she is different than the rest. She is elegant and reserved…Classy. But the passion , desire and ambition are there. She will make it even if she has to sell hair products and mascara.(Money) I find her compelling not just her looks but her whole untouchable looks yet very emotional. I loved it when she sang the Tina Turner song on Idol dressed like Gwen Stafani. That song has never been covered by anyone. Then she got knocked off and everyone felt her pain..She is real..
Glad that she has a fan but unfortunately I don’t see any of those things you mentioned. Passion, desire, compelling, emotional … none of these descriptions apply to Pia imo. Ambition perhaps but ambition can be found in even those who lack ability. She sings well and looks great and is probably a sweetheart like you say but I don’t see anything beyond that.

Why do the execs always seem to think the public will go for a song that reminds them of the singer’s Idol journey? I don’t care if This Time it’s Pia’s time and she’s gonna do it her way. I want good music. Not a bad song, but why the Idol cliches? Time and time again it’s been proven it doesn’t work. Lambert’s Whataya Want From Me and Kris Allen’s Live Like We’re Dying had nothing to do with idol and they both charted pretty high.
Same old, same old. She is just okay. She came in 9th on “American Idol” for a reason. She’s not top of the line and it shows.
I think Pia is great!! She has an awesome voice and I absolutely LOVE the song and already bought it on itunes and my kids love it too! I only see her getting better with experience. I would tell her , “Good for you Pia and keep doing what you love and are great at!!”
Pia has a great voice, but lacking in the performance department. She would bore the hell out of me at a concert. Raise arm, swivel hips, hit a high note does not a star make. she would be great if she knew how to engage the audience.

It was ok-she can sing but I don’t see this being a career for her. She just lacks something. But definitely has the vocals. I wouldn’t worry about any chart busting going on unless you count you tube views
Why have they been sooo harsh with Pia…come on. give her a break. She is young and has a way to go. Not everyone starts off smooth. Her voice is beautiful. I want to hear more of her!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
She is awful and this video is worse. She just isn’t world class material and Idol fans knew it.
Reminds me of an early-2000s Jessica Simpson video. Not sure if that is a compliment or not…
