Coldplay
In addition to standard digital, CD, and vinyl release, there will also be a special limited edition Pop-Up Album version, which includes a 12″ x 12″ hard cover book featuring graffiti pop-up art designed by David A. Carter, and exclusive photographs, excerpts from the studio diary, and content from the band’s personal notebooks.
Coldplay recently performed some of the new music from Mylo Xyloto at Lollapalooza. They also performed ”Every Teardrop Is a Waterfall,” the album’s first single, and another track from the record, “Charlie Brown,” on Jimmy Kimmel Live.
The next single, “Paradise,” is due Sept. 12.

I dont mean for this to be troll-esque, but Coldplay’s music does not warrant this kind of title. Don’t they realize they make bland, catchy adult contemporary?
False.
Obviously its just an opinion, but I really do think that, in search of some false exultation they learned about through their heroes, Coldplay has gotten away from any kind of personal identity they had when they started. I still think Parachutes is a beautifully crafted, heartfelt album, but the band has lost their way, working to meet expectations rather than fulfill artistic inclinations.
When a band fights its natural instincts in order to meet irrational expectations or replicate the sound or success of past bands, the music ends up sounding bland. Coldplay has tried their best to achieve the grandiosity of U2, the exultation of Radiohead, and the unwarranted expectations people put on them early on, but they simply aren’t the artists to do it.
Lots of 4 and 5 syllable words in that diatribe. You going for the pullitzer?
Mike – I was hoping for the Nobel Prize in the Literature/Commenting Spawned by Workplace Boredom category, but I’ll take what I can get.
Home, home, where I wanted to go?
They need to get out more.
U2 blows.
Have you even listened to any of their music? There pretty from Michale Buble.`
You’re obviously not also going for the pullitzer!
Have you ever just read the lyrics to Coldplay songs? It’s like they were written by a 8 year old.
Singin’, yoooooooooooo ohhhhhh
Yooooooooooooo ohhhhhh
Yooooooooooooo ohhhhhh
Yooooooooooooo ohhhhhh
Yooooooooooooo ohhhhhh
Yooooooooooooo ohhhhhh
Bet you’re one of those idiots who have only heard of Clocks, Viva La Vida, Yellow and The Scientist. The likes of the largely unknown songs such as Amsterdam, Spies, Green Eyes or Cemeteries of London are of a much higher standard than the more popular songs.
Be best if people actually shut up until they’ve heard their whole back catalogue than making such arrogant, clueless statements.
Also High Speed.
aka Zooropa 2.0. those guys need some fresh ideas pronto.
Zooropa was a fantastic album. People just don’t understand it. But this one’s sounding like a better album if their Glasto or Lollaplooza performances are anything to go by.
I don’t think negatory was dissing Zooropa. I think he/she was dissing Coldplay for attempting to follow in U2′s footsteps by releasing a clone of Zooropa. And I’m not saying I agree, but that’s how I intepreted the comment.
They don’t even write their own music.
Am I beginning to think that Brian Eno (producer of Viva La Vida & this new album) is ruining the Coldplay I used to love & be really into? I miss the days of Parachutes & A Rush of Blood To The Head when Coldplay was steller.
What is Mylo Xyloto supposed to mean? …and is it weird that coldplay’s sound kind of reminds me of kanye west’s MBDTF? they’re both not the best of their genre, but they’re always doing interesting things musically which makes them awesome.
home… home.. where I found my garden gnome
YAHOOOO!!!!! (really freakin’ weird title though…)
Be good to have some much needed quality back in the album charts. Looking forward to this one very much.
Coldplay vs. Drake. Uh-Oh!
Collective Yawn
Can’t wait. Haters should really listen to the music, not bland, not boring. Try going to Youtube and listening to any b side–Goldrush, Sleeping Sun, I Ran Away, For You, Careful Where you Stand, 1:36. They’re all fantastic, this band is supertalented and I am looking forward to this album.
