Over the last six years, how much time have you spent searching the Internet for the name of a teasing snippet of music (see: Snow Patrol, the Fray, Ingrid Michaelson, etc.) you heard on Grey’s Anatomy?
If you’re a fan of the show’s music, EW is giving you the heads up on this one: That song from ABC’s new Grey’s Anatomy Season 8 promos, which hit TV screens last night, is the lovely “Heart On Fire” by British band Scars on 45. And you can hear it here in full first at EW.com. Have a listen below:
"Heart On Fire" will be released exclusively on the upcoming "Grey's Anatomy Original Soundtrack Volume 4," which is scheduled for a Sept. 13 release and will include music by Lykke Li, The National, Cee-Lo Green and The Boxer Rebellion.
In the interim, you can also hear a live acoustic version of "Heart" available for download now at the ABC Music Lounge.

This show had me using the “Soundhound” App soo many times. Great music. Glad the show’s ending though, I’m soooo over Meredith.
The woman singer sounds like Suzanne Vega. Just sayin.
I remember it took me ages to find the mumfords and sons song that played in one of the episodes [thistles and weed] , but greys got a good selection of songs..

What’s with EW pumping grey’s so much? It’s an OK show, but not fantastic or anything, and it really needs to end soon
That’s a great song. Grey’s always tends to have good songs, and yeah, I still like watching it. It’s sudsy and ridiculous and a bit like crack.
That is the best and most accurate description of Grey’s that I have ever heard.
The music is the best thing about Grey’s. This is exactly the story we want to see.
Meh…. Sounds like Scars on 45 picked up where The Fray left off… Not exactly revolutionary, EW.
