Pistol Annies, a tough-girl trio made up of Miranda Lambert, Ashley Monroe, and Angaleena Presley, has already impacted country music with their debut single, the sexy, slow-burning “Hell On Heels,” the first track from their album (also called Hell On Heels), due August 23.
EW now has an exclusive second dose of the Annies—”Bad Example,” a tongue-in-cheek ditty about being naughty and proud. Listen to the new track below:
“Somebody had to set a bad example,” the girls confess, “Teach all the prim-and-propers what not to do.” The song, a sly complement to Miranda Lambert’s latest solo single “Baggage Claim,” is part of a contest happening on the Pistol Annies’ official website.

LOVE the Pistol Annies! Miranda really is a true country music innovator. She started a group for fun but also as a way to give her girlfriends exposure-just says a lot about her. Can’t wait for this CD next week.. All three are great singer songwriters and it shows.

The more I hear from these girls, the more excited I get for the album! I’ve been lucky enough to see them perform live twice and they are just fantastic. This is going to be an epic album and bring country music back to its roots

The best thing about Pistol Annies is how it’s giving Ashley Monroe more of a chance to be heard.
I love the vibe of the song. I wish the lyrics went more of somewhere but the instrumentation and harmonies are great.
I so agree the first I heard Ashley was on Hell on Heels, she is phenomenal and two thumbs up to Miranda for showcasing both Ashley and Angeleena! Rock on Girls!!!
MIRANDA LAMBERT is a wonderful person. Yes. this will be a great chance for both Ashley and Angaleena to be heard, plus they have to be company for Miranda out on the road. Those girls must be having fun fun. Love their music…
