Why put a bird on it when you can put a cat or a dog in it?
Yesterday, MTV debuted the first in a series that recreates unforgettable VMA moments using remarkably docile house pets—in this case, two very patient puppies playing their own four-legged version of 2010′s meat-dressed Lady Gaga and Cher.
Today, EW is happy to debut a material-feline interpretation of Madonna’s iconic 1984 “Like a Virgin” performance in all its white lace, writhing-bridal glory.
I really appreciate the understated subtlety of the cat’s performance; girl is the Meryl Streep of gimme-that-Fancy-Feast eye contact and slow, methodical tail thumps. Watch it here:

The cat has more talent that Madonna does.
Truth.
Wow DRG, is that what your MaMa told you to say before she tucks you in to hit the streets, or you thought that was a cool hipster doofus comment to make… FAIL
Sorry, but I prefer Madonna’s performance more. And Madonna’s performance is still addictive to watch years later with the wedding dress promoting the newer upcoming 1984 album clashing with the boytoy belt and chains and jewelry of her 1983 debut. She was changing her look and image at that point, leaving one and starting another.
TOTALLY AGREE!!!!!!
I didn’t realize something could be so stupid, but so genius at the same time. That cat is amazing!
Seriously!!!!!!!!!!!
Love Madonna
Madonna had talent for dancing and self-promotion. She did not have singing talent. I was hoping the cat was singing because it would have been a big improvement but, no, it’s still Madonna’s weak warbling.
Hey kids – if you want to hear how studios covered up a weak vocalist in the olden days before autotune just listen to a Modonna track from the eighties.
Can we give Mona a VMA? This is the best video I’ve seen in years.
