Lil Wayne releases 'How to Love' video, steers woman away from life of stripping

The lesson in Lil Wayne’s new video is clear: If you know better, you’ll do better.

In the long overdue clip for “How to Love,” currently No. 8 on the Billboard hot 100 chart, we see a young lady travel down two paths—during the first half she’s the product of a broken home and abusive father who becomes a stripper and spirals downward.

Then Wayne hits rewind and takes us down another route. That same girl watches her mother marry a man who loves her. In turn, the girl matures into a college student who knows what to look for in a man. Watch it after the jump.

Yeah, both storylines are heavy on stereotypes and generalizations. Who’s to say that having a troubled childhood guarantees a kid will be a loser in life? And coming from a happy home certainly doesn’t always equal a blissful future.

But even though it’s not much more than a tutorial in how to keep your daughter off the pole, it’s a solid video. Wayne isn’t the star. He’s more like the narrator and it works were here.

“How to Love” is the second single from Weezy’s forthcoming Tha Carter IV. Looking forward to his album? Let us know.

Why would you complain about such a positive message?? Just because its Lil Wayne? Thats petty

I heard about this video from a friend, who said it made her cry. I think it’s a good message and a good video.

Well, I don’t buy rap music, however if it hits the local radio station I will listen to it. Regarding Lil’ Wayne, he is a four headed monster. I mean monster like in Kanye’s track monster. Lil Wayne is very talented. His creativity is limitless. This video made me cry as well. I am far from being a stripper, but I know life can be very cruel to women who just want someone to love them. They often will rather have bad attention than no attention. Also, alot of families repeat the cycle of unwed mothers who have to find supplemental income by accepting men into their lives who mean them no good.
