It’s been more than three years since Madonna dropped new music.
But the Material Girl recently confirmed that once she’s through with her current promo run for her movie W.E., she’d be hitting the studio to record.
According to Reuters, Madonna’s only done “a little bit of work” on the new project so far, spending time in the studio with Ray of Light producer William Orbit and French DJ Martin Solveig (a.k.a. Monsieur “Hello”). She hopes to release a first single by the end of the winter, with an album out by spring.
Her last release, 2008’s Hard Candy, debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 albums chart on the back of her Timbaland-produced hit single “4 Minutes.”

Parents should be made aware that Germanotta uses occult symbols to permeate much of the imagery she uses in her videos and stage performances. Included in these rituals (disguised as musical performances) is the presence of mind control elements of the horned god Baphomet, and symbols used by other secret societies and so on. Relatively unknown Chicago-based singer Rebecca Francescatti has filed a lawsuit against Lady Gaga for alleged copyright infringement on her hit single “Judas.”
According to TMZ, Francescatti claims that “Juda,” a song she recorded in 1999 with her band Rebecca F. & the Memes, has multiple similarities with Gaga’s track, chief among them the fact that Francescatti’s former bass player Brian Gaynor is now employed by a music company that wrote 17 songs for Gaga’s Born This Way album.
NBC Chicago reported that Gaynor was open with Francescatti and admitted that he was writing for and working with Gaga.
Francescatti’s lawyer, Chris Niro, told TMZ that his client is seeking proper recognition for her original work.
“Though the songs are different styles, the composition is the same and the chorus is the same melody,” he told the site. “[Rebecca] is seeking recognition for what she created.”
By “recognition,” Francescatti means money she believes is owed to her.
In the lawsuit, a copy of which was obtained by the Huffington Post, Francescatti names Gaga, Interscope Records, Universal Music Group, DJ White Shadow and sound engineer Brian Joseph Gaynor as participants in creating the single “Judas,” a song that bears “a substantial similarity” to “Juda” in that Gaga allegedly “copied and incorporated substantial, original portions” of the work, though it was previously copyrighted and recorded with Gaynor. Francescatti is reportedly seeking a cut from the profits “Judas” has earned. – MTV

Couldn’t agree more. Ray of Light was her best album ever. I didn’t care for Hard Candy. I want something with more feeling in it. Not a duet with Justin TImberlake. Although I like JT too, it’s just that Madonna doesn’t need to do duets to sell music.

Squealed when I heard it was William Orbit again. I think Timbaland at least USED to be a genius (in the Aaliyah days) but I didn’t like seeing Madonna try to grab the current “it” producer like everyone else. She’s always done better working with her own people and up and comers.
When she’s with newer producers, she’s that good. When she’s with the it producer of the moment, it’s hit and miss. But I liked her songs with Timbaland and the Neptunes on the Hard Candy album.
Great to hear that Madonna is working with William Orbit! Gives me hope that it will be a good record.
I’m excited for the new album, not so much for the fact that Orbit is on board. ROL isn’t one of my favorites, though I know it is to many.
I agree, I find “Ray of Light” very dated sounding now… it was a good record, but not as good as the stuff she then did with Mirwais, and not the heights of her dance-epic “Confessions” with Stuart Price. But this is Madonna… it’ll be great.
Besides Hung Up, I found Confessions to be pretty slight. Nothing stuck. Ray of Light (and I disagree that it sounds dated in a bad way, just very much of its time) had a lot more weight to it.
I like Confessions, but dance music (like rap) ages faster than other genres of music.

I saw Mariah Carey’s show on September 30th in Las Vegas. SHE SUCKS!!! Not only was she 55 minutes LATE in starting her show, she was dressed like a slut. Her voice was not in shape; it was squeaky as hell. The show was so loud that my eardrums still hurt. My sister and I walked out after 30 minutes into the show because we just couldn’t take it. We tried to get a refund, but the MGM in Las Vegas would not do it. Mariah owes a lot of fans an apology for her rude lateness in beginning. A show that suppose to start at 8:00 p.m. did not go on until 8:55 p.m. It was the worst show I have ever seen (and I have seen many of them). I have seen and heard better shows in our local bars in Rochester Minnesota. If you don’t believe me, come and check it out. THIS WAS THE CRAPPIEST SHOW I HAVE EVER SEEN!

Even though Orbit freshened Madge up (and conversely, she made him a name among music fans) in the late 90′s, his sound always sounds the same. I’m hoping together they craft something fresh. And I am very excited that she is working with Solveig.
Glad that she’s going back to the recording studio, where she belongs. We’re long overdue for a Madonna album.

Very glad to hear she’s working with William Orbit again, as Ray of Light remains far and away her best album. I think he may be her best shot at producing something that doesn’t sound like Born This Way First…
No please, Born This Way is not an album of the year to begin with. Madonna is better to stay away from Gaga influence. Plus, Gaga has already struggle to stay relevant only after 2 years.

Lady Gaga intended her latest album “Born This Way” to be her magnum opus, she predicted it would be the album of the decade.

William Orbit did definitely help Ray of Light become the most ambitious and groundbreaking album of madonna’s career. but then, he also produced Music. hmm…. i hope Madonna will break boundaries again instead of just copying what’s currently popular. it’s time she set the trends again, instead of following them. i hope to be surprised by the new album.
I think Music was a pretty good album that’s kind of remembered too much for its sorta-obnoxious lead single. I also think American Life was underrated (but still deeply flawed), so I could be crazy.
No, that’s not quite right. Mirwais was the primary producer on Music. I believe William Orbit only produced 2 or 3 tracks.
