There’s still a week until Kelly Clarkson’s fifth studio album, Stronger, officially hits retailers, but here’s a little something to tide you over until then: The original American Idol diva has just dropped another song from the collection, “You Love Me,” on YouTube.
Like the other tracks from Stronger that have surfaced — “What Doesn’t Kill You (Stronger)” and “Mr. Know It All” — “You Love Me” is written from the perspective of a scorned lover. “You didn’t let me down / You didn’t tear me apart / You just opened my eyes / While breaking my heart,” Clarkson sings on the midtempo chorus, before getting to the lyrics that explain why the song is named what it is: “You just made me cry by claiming you love me, you love me, you love me.”
The whole thing is laid over driving guitar riffs, so it never gets too sad or weepy. It’s another song that’s sure to please fans — this one here is certainly very pleased with it — even if it doesn’t make a big splash on radio. Take a listen here:
What’s you think of “You Love Me”? Another hit for Kelly?

Out of these I like What Doesn’t Kill You best. It’s the only one whose chorus doesn’t sound kind of repetitive. I want to hear an acoustic ballad version of this because I think it’d be a lot better.
There will actually be a slower version of the song on her EP! I’m excited to hear that as well. I really dig the 80s vibe on this version though.
What EP? Is it like an order through her website exclusive, cause I havent heard it mentioned anywhere in promotional or press material.
Yes you order it through her website.
Everyone knows. 3 singles in less than 4 weeks? Guess what? Hit the road. Nobody is listening.
Seriously, Greg? The latter two aren’t official singles, just available to stream to preview the album. Mr. Know It All is currently climbing the charts, so clearly people are listening.
Amazing. Have come to expect nothing less from our generation’s best vocalist. Kelly is truly in a league of her own in terms of vocal control, range and interpretation. Stronger can’t come soon enough!BTW,I wanna share a good news to you.My best friend ,she just has announced her wedding with a millionaire man who is a celebrity !they met via Millionaireloving.℃ óM ..it is the largest and best club for celebrity and their admirers to chat online. You do not have to be rich or famous. ,but you can meet one , It’s worthy a try,Maybe you wanna check it out or tell your friends!
Wow. I love it. I am enjoying all of the new songs. I love the cohesive theme. I know I am feeling empowered. Kelly has the best voice in music. I cannot wait for the new album to officially be out. I pre-ordered it and the EP.
All of these songs stink. I’m not buying this crap.
ah justin you spelled your name wrong
Love it! Her whole album is amazing.
I have a feeling this will be her most memorable well made album. I just realized that the 21st is this friday, oh crap, I’m so excited to get her album this week.
She’s said in nearly every interview these songs aren’t about a romantic relationship, or at least that’s not what inspired her to write them. “Mr. Know it All” is about people in general–lovers, family, friends, coworkers, the media, “Let Me Down” is about a working relationship, etc. I think she gets pegged as the scorn lover from her past work, but she’s moved on from that as a songwriter.
wow really good song
Love it Kelly C.
Reminds me of something cheap trick might have done back in the 80s. …and that’s a good thing.
I listened to the snippets off Stronger and I love Breaking Your Own Heart, Alone , I Forgive You and What Doesn’t Kill You and The Sun Will Rise!!! So many hits waiting to Happen..Makes me wonder why they chose Mr.Know It All for the first single, its good but any of the above would have been better first singles..
Kelly…you’ve gotten too fat!!!
Great song!
Look in the mirror!
She was something about 10 years ago.
Tamara, I hope that you feel good calling a woman that you have never met fat via a post on the internet. You’re a real winner!
Oh simmer down. Anyone with eyes can see she’s a porker.
A porker? I just love blog trolls who criticize someone else’s weight. Why does an entertainer have to slim down for a slack-jawed yokel like you Nougat?
Amazing. Have come to expect nothing less from our generation’s best vocalist. Kelly is truly in a league of her own in terms of vocal control, range and interpretation. Stronger can’t come soon enough!
Why does no one say that about Adele?
And Kelly is beautiful.
Actually they do, and it’s getting old.
Wow- I LOVE it! All of the songs I’ve heard from the album are sooooo good. She is just pure talent. I can’t wait to get the album!
Gotta love an artist that leaks her own stuff, lol… Kelly is fabulous, as always. Spot-on voice, cool song, great vibe. Hope this album is a huge hit for her. Can’t wait to hear it in full next Tuesday!! <3 me some KC
It leaked alright. All over my shoes. Gross
Love her, love the song. It’s a LOVE FEST, baby!
I just broke up with my partner of almost 10 years and this song explains exactly how I feel and the 80s sound of the song that da dink da dink high pitched percussion. is the bittersweet cherry on my humble pie
Pie, just made me think of Beavis and Butthead. Yeah the song really takes me back. It also has a Slight Stevie Nicks to it as well. Bless you. Long Live the American Idol!
I meant to say it has a “slight Stevie Nicks to it” and sorry for the pie joke hehheh heh
“slight Stevie Nicks swirl it” Dude, this song took me way too back.
Oh be quiet Greg. What do you know about talent.
