Raj might be having trouble with love this season on The Big Bang Theory, but with a playlist like this, his portrayer Kunal Nayyer certainly has enough to cure whatetever heartache ails him.
EW recently spoke with actor to get a rundown of five songs/artists that are in heavy rotation right now. Take a look:
Mumford and Sons: “I love epic folk rock. I love Glen Hansard and Marketa Irglova from the movie Once, and I feel like Mumford takes it to another level. When I hear it, I feel the music in my bones. I get chills when I hear it.”
Radiohead, “True Love Waits”: “I came from India in ’99 and I didn’t have access to a lot of good music. Well, I did, but it was Bon Jovi, Bryan Adams, New Kids on the Block — generic pop music, which I still love to this day, though. I didn’t really get Radiohead at first, but when I really began listening to them, I became obsessed….Every single breakup I’ve had in my life, I’ve listened to that song. [Laughs] I’m an actor; we’re masochistic. It feels good to hurt.”
Eminem, “Love the Way You Lie”: “I recently had a reunion. Went I went to grad school for acting there was only eight students, and we all went out and had a blast. And we started blasting this song and started dancing. We were ‘those people’ in the car who people stare at. We were just dancing and dancing because the beat is so good.”
The Civil Wars, “Poison and Wine”: “It’s been a long time since I’ve heard two people whose voices sound so good together in harmony.”
Jay-Z and Kanye West, “Otis”: “There’s this one song with Otis Redding that’s really cool. It’s a clear and crisp form of rap. It’s driving music or good for working out….I’ve got these Dr. Dre headphones and it’s like being inside a nightclub when you put those on. I think that’s why I’m inclined to listen to hip-hop right now. It makes me feel cool, and I’m not cool at all.”

True Love Waits is a beautiful Radiohead song that many people don’t know about. Great choice.
Slow news day?..who cares!..should have asked him boxers or briefs!
Your comment made me choke on my breakfast. Good one!
I do not agree with you my fowl mouth friend, the aanmil died quickly with no pain. I would like to state for public record that I have never had sexual relations with my Mother,Father or Brother. I suggest Brandon, that you try to produce your own food instead of living at Mc Donalds. I have no respect for you at this point. Please feel free to post more rude unfounded comments at any time, I will be happy to share your limited vocabulary with my followers. Have a cheeseburger and wear fur. Thanks a bunch, Cassie
Love Kunal Nayyar! Wish there would be more stories about him!
Great music choices!
I’m a level 1 guy w/the Army and I absolutely love your mngorapmirg. I’ve been following it on and off for the last 2 and a half years. But I have to be honest. I still really don’t understand all of the Jargon. Could someone please explain to me, at base level idiocy sort of simplicity what ALL OF THIS MEANS???Swim (SS Thu, 3S Fri): 10-20 x 50m on 0:45, hold within 3-5 seconds ???And how does the training differ between Single Sport (SS) and multiple or triple sport??? I’m sorry man, I’m just trying to wrap my head around it all. Won’t be able to attend a seminar or a cert for another year or so probably.
Poison & Wine is amazing!
LATFIH
kidding
That Radiohead song is a little whiny/nasally in the singing for me… too bad. Everyone is so enamored with them, and I definitely haven’t heard as many songs that convince me.
I do love the Civil Wars and all of the guilty pleasure USA pop music he mentioned
We loved reading trhguoh your submit. I’ve reached be honest had been the very first content material in your weblog I truly liked as well as where I’d a sense of knowing, understand what I mean? Anyway, keep up with the posting and Im going to be back again.
Mumford and Sons and The Civil Wars – nice. Very good taste.
Why is all music made these by men with no balls!
I now have an Eminem tune in my iPod, thanks to Raj. HEY SANDRA! Wouldn’t a Jim Parsons iPod List be too awesome? Make it happen, woman.
