Clear Channel cutting more on-air talent across the country -- is this the end of local radio?

I stopped listening to radio around 10 years ago because of a growing complete lack of diversity on the playlists. You have to either be a 1-named female celebrity who records pre-written vocals to a track she has nearly no involvement in creating or an ignorant ghetto thug. There is no room for indie, singer-songwriter or rock and roll, nor is there any room on top 40 for veteran artists who remain wildly popular. Not ony that, it appears there is some sort of payola connection between American Idol and Clear Channel. Lopez has no hit record in years, now all her singles suddenly get A-listed. All American Idol alumni get the red carpet treatment from Clear Channel-it just stinks. I’ll use my own Ipod and pick my own songs while I’m still allowed to instead of letting the fascist nazis at Clear Channel dictate what I may hear.
