Rebecca Black tops '50 Worst Music Videos Ever' -- Who else made the list?

No surprises here: In a list of the “50 Worst Music Videos Ever,” U.K. music mag NME gives Rebecca Black and her viral assault on music otherwise known as “Friday” the dubious top honor.

Though the list had its share of Brit-tastrophes, there is no shortage of American cheese. Some inclusions make absolute sense (Paris Hilton and Steel Panther, anyone?), though other artists who made the cut (Lady Gaga, Britney Spears) might cause more than a few internet mutinies.

Keep reading to see Black’s video and judge for yourself, then see which other guilty-pleasure highlights made the list: READ FULL STORY »

Mindy McCready missing -- UPDATE

Celeb-Ghost-Stories

Mindy McCready and her 5-year-old son have gone missing, reports People. The embattled singer has been engaged in a dispute over custody of son Zander, who is currently under the care of her parents. She was last seen in Cape Coral, Fla., where the boy’s father lives. People reported that McCready posted on her Facebook wall, “My son is not missing” and that “police established that this afternoon via Skype” before telling friends and fans, “Please do not worry.”

It’s the latest in a saga of recent personal problems for McCready, including an apparent overdose, suicide attempts, and rehab. EW reached out to McCready’s publicist Linus Entertainment and was told the company had not been in touch with the country singer for some time. UPDATE: Lieutenant Tony Sizemore of the Cape Coral PD confirmed that a police report was filed yesterday morning, though he emphasized, “It is not a Missing Persons report.” He added, ”It’s not the Missing Persons case you would imagine. There’s no amber alert, there was no child abducted on a playground.”According to Lt. Sizemore, McCready removed her son from the Cape Coral area and was, thus, in violation of her visitation agreement. “We have contacted her. She is okay, and the child is okay,” said Lt. Sizemore. McCready now has until 5 p.m. Thursday to return her son to his grandparents. If she fails to do so, the judge on her case may issue a bench warrant for her arrest.

Michael Buble just barely beats Nickelback on the Billboard 200; Rihanna debuts at No. 3

Michael-Buble

In its fifth week on the chart, Michael Bublé’s Christmas climbed into the top spot on the Billboard 200, shifting just over 227,000 copies.

Thanks to a Black Friday sales boost, the album increased 37 percent from last week, thereby giving Bublé the best sales week of his career and lifting total sales to 745,000. It should pass 1 million by year’s end. READ FULL STORY »

Demi Lovato's hair makes a run for it in concert: Watch the video here

The weave: For fairytale princesses, it’s perfect. For everyone else, (even you, pop stars) it’s an accident waiting to happen.

Demi Lovato was performing over the weekend when she had a little situation involving some dancing, some costumes and some runaway extensions. Namely, Ms. Lovato went one hair toss too far, and her weave came tumbling down.

Girl worked it like a pro, though — she doesn’t even blink. It takes some serious attitude to have something that was just on your head now clinging desperately to your sparkly stage blazer and just keep trucking, but she struts it out and finishes the number like a boss.

Check out the blurry video below: (The hair horror begins around :45) READ FULL STORY »

Dr. Conrad Murray given maximum sentence for his role in the death of Michael Jackson

Conrad Murray has been sentenced to the maximum four years in prison for his involvement in the death of Michael Jackson.

Murray was convicted Nov. 7 of involuntary manslaughter after the prosecution “painted him as a reckless caregiver who administered a lethal dose of a powerful anesthetic that killed the pop star,” according to the AP.

CNN reports that presiding judge Michael Pastor, in a lengthy statement delivered before sentencing Murray for involuntary manslaughter, said that he felt a significant responsibility to determine the appropriate sentence, utilizing his “sense of fairness and decency.”

“There are those who feel Dr. Murray is a saint,” Pastor said. “There are those who feel Dr. Murray is the devil. He’s neither. He’s a human being. He stands convicted of the death of another human being.”

According to CBS, several members of Jackson’s family, including mother Katherine and siblings LaToya, Jermaine, Randy and Rebbie, attended the proceedings. Before the sentencing, a representative read a statement on behalf of the Jackson family.

While they didn’t explicitly ask for the maximum penalty for Murray, their statement stated that “the cardiologist should be punished in a way that reminds physicians that they cannot sell their services to the highest bidder.”

Lady Gaga chats about her bad romances. Maybe the problem is her oversharing in the press?

Oh, Lady Gaga. I love you, but do you ever have an inner monologue?

Wrapping up her year of flirting with overexposure, Lady Gaga has given an interview to Vanity Fair, and instead of talking Born This Way and bullying, she decided to get personal in a different way and discuss her relationships, or lack thereof, with men.

She told the magazine, “I have this effect on people where it starts out good. Then, when I’m in these relationships with people who are also creative, or creative in their own way, what happens is the attraction is initially there and it’s all unicorns and rainbows. And then they hate me.”

Interestingly, in her recent Thanksgiving special, Gaga shared that in her very public life, the one thing that is off-limits is her personal relationships (She’s reportedly dating Vampire Diaries actor Taylor Kinney). I guess that decision didn’t extend to trash-talking exs. READ FULL STORY »

Did Wyclef Jean misuse millions in Haiti charity funds? He refutes new news reports

Haitian-born solo artist and former Fugee Wyclef Jean is defending his charity, Yele Haiti, after a report by the New York Post questioned the spending — or lack thereof — of funds raised for disaster relief.

According to a Sunday article in the Post, Yele Haiti spent only a “pittance” of the $16 million collected after the devastating 2010 earthquake on emergency aid including questionable contracts — such as $350,000 to a construction firm run by Jean’s brother-in-law and $1 million to a Florida firm that may or may not exist.

Jean has defended the charity, calling the article “misleading, deceptive and incomplete.” He said that decisions made by Yele Haiti were made quickly in the aftermath of a catastrophic event and he stands by those decisions. He also provides some explanation for the Florida contract — with Amisphere Farm Labor Inc. — saying the Post failed to mention the preparation and delivery of 100,000 meals by that organization.

According to the Post, however, no trace of Amisphere Farm Labor could be found in Florida beyond its incorporation in 2008. The business’s listed address is an auto-repair shop in Miami’s Little Haiti and records show that the head of the company purchased three properties in Florida last year including an upscale waterfront condo..

These accusations are only the latest round of controversy surrounding Yele Haiti. Days after the earthquake struck, allegations arose that Jean had been appropriating charity funds for personal use, a claim he disputed. Jean stepped down as the head of Yele Haiti in August 2010.

Diva vs. diva -- a video history of smack talk from Mariah, Madonna, and more: Watch it here

Hakuna Matata! It’s the circle of life for our sweet divas.

The ever-awesome fourfour (he of the deathless Celine Dion Is Amazing video) has supercut a decade-plus of diva smack talk one epic nine minute montage of backhanded compliments, cutting quips, and straight-up rude as heck responses.

It’s all here: Mariah vs. Whitney, Mariah vs. Madonna, Madonna vs. Janet, Britney vs. Madonna, Christina vs. Lady Gaga, Cher vs. Celine, and Cher vs. Madonna.

My favorite biting retort comes towards the end, when Cher takes on Madonna by saying, “She’s unbelievably creative, because she’s not unbelievably talented. She’s not beautiful.” Only Cher could get away with saying all that with a nonchalant ‘What? Is this offensive?’ side-eye.

Check out the over-the-top awesomeness below: READ FULL STORY »
