After confessing to U.K. paper The Sun that she had taken an overdose of pills last week in Los Angeles, Sinead O’Connor took to Twitter to publicly plea for help in a series of tweets yesterday:

The troubled singer, who recently married for the fourth time in Las Vegas and split from her husband 16 days later (they are still dating), has written of her struggles with depression and suicide attempts in the past on her Twitter account, and alluded to the role her much-covered marriage may have played in her current state, posting yesterday:

“hard if u see someone u love bein hurt cus of u is all.. fux self esteem.. which aint always massive for any of us.. anyway thank u all”

Currently, she seems to have returned to lighter topics on her feed (mostly to do with defending her husband and her friend Andrea Corr), and posted gratitude to her followers, tweeting: “anyway me go do phoners now for album. cant let s— stop me working. i just wanted 2 thank u all SO much an say i love u all : )”
