A lot has happened since we last heard from the talented, complicated Fiona Apple. Her most recent album, Extraordinary Machine, was released all the way back in the mists of 2005.

Since then she’s largely retreated from the spotlight, leaving patient fans to make do with musical descendants (or poor Xeroxes, depending on your point of view) Lana Del Rey and the like. But no more!

If your location and Ticketmaster deftness plays in your favor, you’ll get to see the singer-songwriter live for the first time in, well, a while.

Apple is slated to play two dates at this year’s South By Southwest festival in Austin, Tex., this year. (If you can’t make it, we’ll be there and let you know how they go.) And after that, she’ll embark on a short six-date tour through Chicago and a slew of key cities along I-95; according to her site, tickets for all dates go on sale this Friday.

But don’t worry, rest of America: there will likely be many more opportunities to see Fiona live, especially considering she’s supposed to have a new album to promote this year (fingers crossed). For now, though, here are the dates announced so far:

3/15 – Austin, TX at Central Presbyterian Church

3/19 – Chicago, IL at Lincoln Hall

3/21 – Washington, DC at Sixth & I Historic Synagogue

3/23 – Brooklyn, NY at Music Hall Of Williamsburg

3/24 – Atlantic City, NJ at Borgata Music Box

3/26 – New York, NY at Bowery Ballroom

3/27 – Boston, MA at Royale

Are you guys excited to see a Fiona Apple comeback this year, or not so much? Let’s discuss!
