New Karmin video, 'Brokenhearted' -- Watch Amy let her hair down

YouTube stars-turned-SNL musical guests Karmin have released a new video for their second single “Brokenhearted,” a follow-up to their debut effort, “Crash Your Party,” which never quite happened.

In the video for the summery track, which jumped from 84 to 60 on Billboard’s Hot 100 this week, Amy meets real-life fiancĂ© Nick at a club and then spends the whole next day waiting for her phone to ring. “Don’t you leave me brokenhearted,” she pleads with her touch screen.

Does she finally re-nab his attention? You’ll have to watch the video to find out:

Aw, poor girl is just left to clutch her pillow and sob the night away. Oh well — at least she looks great while taking the bad news. She gets to take her hair out of that trademark “suicide roll” and put on some normal clothes, so she can’t be too brokenhearted, right?

Personally, I think this more pedestrian look is a welcome change from the high-concept looks Karmin’s been rocking lately (and in much of this video). I understand wanting to look like pop stars, but sometimes those Minaj-esque duds get in the way of the music. So for me, this video is a step in the right direction.

What do you think of Karmin’s new video? Will “Brokenhearted” gain traction on pop radio?
