If you ever see Chris Brown and Drake at the same club, close your tab immediately!
Both the NYPD and Brown’s Twitter have confirmed that Breezy and Drizzy were involved in a violent altercation at a Manhattan nightclub at around 4 a.m. last night/this morning, reports TMZ.
No arrests were made (both stars had fled the scene by the time the cops showed up), but five were taken to the hospital for minor injuries, and Brown himself apparently got cut in the face. The singer tweeted an image of his gash as evidence, but has since taken down the picture. He also took down the accompanying message, which read:
“How u party wit rich n**** that hate? Lol… Throwing bottles like girls? #shameonya!”
Which leaves open the possibility that Drake (or someone in Drake’s crew) cut Chris Brown with a bottle last night. But why?
According to reports, the fight started over Brown’s ex Rihanna, who’s been romantically linked to Drake in the past. Brown’s crew apparently sent Drake’s party a bottle of champagne (foreshadowing!) and a handwritten note while at the club. The imaginative folks at The Sun think the note might’ve said, “I’m f****** the love of your life, deal with it,” but that’s wildly unconfirmed and probably too silly to be true.
Moral of the story? Go home before closing time, kids.
Update 1: According to the following statement from Drake’s publicist, the Take Care rapper did not take part in the fight: “Drake did not participate in any wrongdoing of any kind last night at W.i.P. He was on his way out of the club when the altercation began. He did not engage in any activity which resulted in injury to person or damage to property.” Latest word is that Meek Mill, who was also on the scene with Drake’s camp, may have been involved.
Update 2: Chris Brown’s team has apparently presented the NYPD with “physical evidence” which allegedly shows Drake was involved in the melee, TMZ reports. The plot thickens!
