Rapper 50 Cent is currently in the hospital after an automobile accident last night on New York’s Long Island Expressway.
According to the MC’s official website, the man born Curtis Jackson III was driving his SUV on the highway last night when a Mack truck rear-ended him. He is currently being treated at a Queens hospital for neck and back injuries. The other driver is also being treated for undisclosed injuries. UPDATE: According to a statement sent out by a representative, 50 has been released from the hospital and is doing fine.
ThisIs50.com posted a number of photos from the incident, including shots of 50’s SUV (which wasn’t completely totaled — maybe that bulletproof exterior is worth it after all) and of the rapper being wheeled through the hospital on a stretcher while wearing a neck brace.
50 Cent’s fifth official full-length album 5 (Murder By Numbers) is scheduled to be released next Tuesday, July 3.
