Let’s get one thing clear right out of the gate: According to the singer herself, Alicia Keys’ new single “Girl on Fire” has nothing to do with The Hunger Games.
Keys’ new single, from her forthcoming album of the same name, comes in two versions: A subtle, smokey “Blue Light” iteration, and a big, thumping, Nicki Minaj-assisted take called “Inferno.”
We prefer the latter, where Minaj steals the show (as she is wont to do), and the garage-influenced backbeat helps prop up a relatively weak hook. But give both versions a spin below.
You may be hearing this song live in one iteration or another within the next 48 hours; Keys is set to perform on the MTV Video Music Awards this Thursday.
