Labor Day weekend is a time for rest, though Green Day frontman Billie Joe Armstrong got more rest than he bargained for on Sunday.

While on tour in Italy, Armstrong was rushed to the hospital, forcing the group to cancel a performance in Bologna.

The other two members of the band, Mike Dirnt and Tre Cool, took to YouTube to post a video apology to the fans who were looking forward to the show at the I-Day Festival. Check out their comments below.

There has been no official word regarding the nature of Armstrong’s health problem, though the other band members said doctors suggested it was not a good idea for him to perform.

The next item on the band’s schedule is this Thursday’s MTV Video Music Awards, where they are supposed to premiere a new song from their upcoming album trilogy, the first of which hits store shelves on Sept. 25.
