How do you follow up the monster success of “Call Me Maybe”? Hopefully with a “Kiss.”

On Monday, Carly Rae Jepsen released her first solo single since “Maybe” debuted in the States on February 22. “This Kiss” is the next single off the 26-year-old’s new album Kiss, which will be released on Sept. 18. Check it out below:

The song has a cute backstory — reportedly, Jepsen wrote it with her rumored now-boyfriend Matthew Koma.

The song has a fun, fizzy dance beat and grows on repeated listens, but honestly, it’s hard to imagine it matching the phenomenon of “Call Me Maybe.” To date,¬†“Maybe” has sold 9.1 million singles worldwide, and spent nine weeks at No. 1 on the Hot 100 — the longest run this year.

Will “This Kiss” inspire viral tributes from presidents and Olympic champions? Tell us what you think in the comments below.
