The three surviving Monkees, Michael Nesmith, Micky Dolenz and Peter Tork, will be going on a cross-country tour this summer, beginning July 15. Titled “A Midsummer’s Night With The Monkees,” the show will be a multimedia look into the band’s song catalog. Using old footage and photos to supplement the time-travel journey, the Midsummer’s Night will kick off with hits like “I’m a Believer” and end with songs from the band’s 1996 reunion album, “Just Us.”
Davy Jones passed away in February 2012, but the band’s reunion tour in November and December of the same year were successful. Fans thrilled to see the Monkees back together, and the remaining band members paid tribute to Jones’ memory by including video of him in their recent shows together.
According to a statement by band member Micky Dolenz, there have been talks of recording another album and of expanding the tour. Presale and VIP tickets will be available on May 1, with general tickets going on sale on May 3.
