Today marks the long-awaited release of Drake’s excellent new album Nothing Was The Same. (Check out EW music critic Nick Catucci’s take on the album here.)

But Drake isn’t done dropping new material today: He just released the video for the single “Hold On, We’re Going Home.” In the clip, directed by The Matrix and Spider-Man cinematographer Bill Pope, Drake’s lady gets kidnapped by some gangsters, which transforms Drake and his crew into a balaclava-wearing, machine gun shooting SWAT team to infiltrate a warehouse where the thugs are hiding out.

Between his deep croon and the flashiness of the video, we get the sense that Drake is a passionate devotee of the R. Kelly videos that featured Ronald Isley as Mr. Biggs.

Check out the seven minute action movie below, and enjoy that A$AP Rocky cameo:

What do you think of the “Hold On, We’re Going Home” video? How does it stack up against the clip for “Started From the Bottom,” which is still one of the best hip-hop shorts of 2013? Let us know in the comments.
