Miley Cyrus teams with Flaming Lips for Beatles cover at Billboard Awards

Miley Cyrus was out of commission for a spell, which kept her away of eye-popping costumes and attention-grabbing headlines for a few weeks. (How did the Internet not sink into the ocean due to a dearth of Cyrus-related material?)

But now she’s back, touring Europe, happily grinding against anatomically correct blow-up dolls, and dropping in on Sunday night’s Billboard Music Awards via satellite to deliver a cover of the Beatles’ “Lucy In the Sky With Diamonds” with some help from the Flaming Lips.

Robin Thicke is really really sorry, and he's going to sing about it

Apparently, the corner bodega was all out of apology roses — in a grand gesture intended for his estranged wife, actress Paula Patton, Robin Thicke will reportedly debut a new song at Sunday night’s Billboard Awards for her called “Get Her Back.”

Billboard confirms that Thicke will be performing on the show — and TMZ claims to have obtained lyrics for the song, which includes the lines “I should’ve kissed you longer / I should’ve held you stronger / And I’ll wait for forever for you,” “All I wanna do is make it right,” and “I gotta get her, go get her back/I gotta treat her right/I gotta cherish her for life.”

The Billboard Awards air Sunday night at 8pm on ABC.

Justin Bieber booed at Billboard Music Awards -- VIDEO

Can you belieb it?

One week after Justin Bieber’s animated alter ego caused a stir in Springfield, his slightly less animated real-world self caused a similar ruckus at the Billboard Music Awards. Over the course of the night, Biebs was crowned Top Male Artist, Top Social Artist, and Milestone Artist — beating out heavyweights Taylor Swift and Bruno Mars for the latter prize.

As the singer made his way toward the stage to accept that last award, something funny happened: Beneath the high-pitched shrieks that greet Bieber wherever he goes, there was a low, rumbly, distinct chorus of boos. The heckling continued as Bieber delivered his acceptance speech, swelling when he made an impromptu plea to the audience: “From my heart, I really just want to say, it really should be about the music. It should be about the craft that I’m making. This is not a gimmick, I’m not — I’m an artist, and I should be taken seriously. And all this other bull should not be spoken of.”
