Jay Z announced Friday he’ll move forward with a planned collaboration with Barneys New York despite recent allegations of racial profiling at the luxury store, an ongoing investigation into the claims and public pressure that he back out of the deal.
In a statement on his website, Jay Z said he’d agreed to move forward with next week’s launch of his BNY SCC collection under the condition that he helps lead the store’s review of its policies.
“The easy position would have been to walk away and leave policymaking to others hoping that someone addresses the problem,” said Jay Z. “I will take this into my own hands with full power to recommend, review and revise policies and guidelines moving forward. I am choosing to take this head on.”
He said 100 percent of sales from the collection of clothes, accessories and jewelry will go toward his charitable foundation, which supports educational opportunities for disadvantaged students, and an additional 10 percent of all Barneys’ sales during Wednesday’s launch day will also be donated. Bollywood star Priyanka Chopra has just released the lyric video for her first single, “In My City.”
The song, off her upcoming debut album, represents Ms. Chopra’s first foray into music. She began her career as a model, winning the prestigious Miss World title in 2000. She then transitioned to acting, working steadily in Bollywood for several years before achieving critical success with 2008’s Fashion, which earned her a National Film Award for Best Actress in India. In 2011, she landed a record deal with Universal and started working with such hitmakers as Jay Sean and producer RedOne on her first album.
The single, which features a guest spot from Will.i.am, debuted earlier in September on the NFL’s Thursday Night Football and will serve as the official intro song for this season’s pregame show. Watch the video after the jump, and sound off in the comments.
This may just be the most outrageous Lady Gaga look of them all: A stripped-down, gimmick-free Stefani Germanotta. CNN.com has previously unreleased pictures of the crusading pop star in her first photo shoot “Before she was Gaga.”
The photos of a then-19-year-old, which were reportedly taken at her parents apartment on the Upper East Side by Malgorzata Saniewska, a co-worker at the restaurant where she worked at the time, find the pre-Gaga Gaga doing her best Fabulous Baker Boys impression atop a piano in some shots and looking eerily like an early-day Amy Winehouse in others.

Madonna launches new 'Truth or Dare' lifestyle collection; we suggest five products she should consider
A couple of years ago, Madonna made her official foray into the fashion world with “Material Girl,” a contemporary line aimed at teenage girls.
Now, she’s ready to take on fashionistas her own age — and, well, slightly younger — with “Truth or Dare,” a new lifestyle collection aimed at women between the ages of 27-50.
“Over the past several years, I have been approached countless times to create my own brand,” Madonna said in a statement to Yahoo!. “The timing is right and I have found great partners in Iconix, who can help translate my vision to reality.”
Madonna is apparently planning to kick off “Truth or Dare” (which is also, famously, the title of a 1991 documentary about her Blond Ambition tour) with a fragrance next April, after which she’ll possibly add on accessories, handbags and underwear. Whether or not actual clothing makes the cut remains to be seen.
Now, since we don’t have much detail yet on what exactly the line will feature, we decided to come up with a few creative ideas of our own. Check out the list below to see the five products we think Madonna’s collection could include, and then share your own predictions in the comments. READ FULL STORY
