Justin Bieber cancels Portugal show due to 'unforeseen circumstances'

Justin Bieber should probably get back to the friendly confines of Los Angeles (or maybe Toronto) as soon as possible, as his spin through Europe has been full of speed bumps.

In his latest stumble, Bieber had to cancel the second of two shows in Portugal that was supposed to happen on Tuesday, March 12. The reason given? “Unforeseen circumstances.” (Tonight’s show will still go on as scheduled.) Since the announcement was made by the promoter, it’s safe to assume the show will not be happening due to low ticket sales or some sort of staging or logistical issue, rather than any sort of personal issue. Justin Bieber gets in scuffle with press photographer, makes it out alive

We already knew that Justin Bieber isn’t having the best of times in London, and it seems like his trip is only getting more sour.

Bieber, newly released from hospitalization after having fainted at his O2 concert last night, quickly found his way into a scuffle with the press. While entering an SUV with his entourage, the singer snapped and flipped out at an unruly photographer who claimed he was “assaulted.” (Most on-the-scene reports say Bieber may have been pushed or brushed against the man on the way into his car.) Things ended up getting so out of hand, Bieber had to be restrained by his bodyguards.

“What the f— you say?” he screamed at the paparazzo before lunging at him in as threatening a manner Bieber can muster. “I’ll beat the f— out of you!”

TMZ has footage of the incident, which captures the photographer exacerbating the situation by hurling insults like “f— off back to America” and “f—ing moron” at the red-clad Bieber. The clip is a bit messy, but it’s definitely worth a watch.

Justin Bieber plans to get back on stage one night after being hospitalized

Justin Bieber says he is “getting better,” after fainting backstage at a concert in London, and the venue says Friday’s show is scheduled to go ahead as planned.

A spokesman for the O2 Arena said the 19-year-old pop star was treated backstage during Thursday’s concert after becoming short of breath, but recovered and finished his set.

“As far as we are concerned everything is on, on, on” for Friday’s show, Jeremy King said.

“He was treated by our team of medics and after further examination they didn’t find anything more serious or worrying.”

A spokeswoman for Bieber said he was recovering after Thursday’s incident, which saw him given oxygen before returning to the stage. READ FULL STORY

Justin Bieber apologizes after London crowd waits almost 2 hours for concert

Justin Bieber apologized Tuesday to his young fans — and their outraged, overtired parents — after they accused him of taking the stage almost two hours late for a concert in London.

The singer insisted he had only been 40 minutes late, and blamed “technical issues.”

But, he added in a tweet to his 35 million followers: “There is no excuse for that and I apologize for anyone we upset. However it was great show and I’m proud of that.”

Concertgoers said the teenage star appeared onstage at the 02 Arena on Monday at 10:30 p.m., when the start time had been listed as 8:30. Many in the audience, who had been waiting for hours, faced the choice between leaving early or missing the last trains home.

“There were teenage girls crying outside,” said financial analyst Louise Cooper, who had taken her 9-year-old daughter to the gig as a birthday present. READ FULL STORY

Justin Bieber has 'worst birthday' in London

Yesterday, Justin Bieber edged one year closer to his twenties, beginning his 19th birthday well enough by cruising London shirtless. But something went wrong along the way. Last night, Bieber sent a tweet reading simply, “Worst birthday”. According to some social-media watchers, the message is now the third-most retweeted update in Twitter history.

So what happened? According to reports, Bieber was ejected from the London club Cirque du Soir because some members of his entourage were below 18, the legal drinking age in England. Us Weekly reports that 14-year-old Jaden Smith, son of Will Smith, was the club’s cause of concern. This apparently led to an argument between the singer’s entourage and the club’s security, resulting in the whole crew getting bounced out of the club.

“There was never any mention of Jaden being there, so when he showed up, it caused problems,” a source told Us Weekly. “They could have stayed if Jaden left, but Justin wanted to be loyal to his good friend.”

Patrick Carney on Justin Bieber's lack of Grammys: 'He's making a lot of money. He should be happy'

One person not upset about the Justin Bieber Grammys “snub”? Patrick Carney of The Black Keys.

“Grammys are for like music, not for money … and he’s making a lot of money. He should be happy,” Carney told TMZ,

This isn’t the first time Carney has taken a swipe at another celebrity. After last year’s Grammys, Carney told EW, “We walked the red carpet, and I just remember everyone pushing us out of the way so that Kim Kardashian and Snooki could get through. It became pretty obvious that it wasn’t so much about the music as it was about the famous people. It was a little bit gross.” READ FULL STORY

Justin Bieber releases new song on Grammy night -- LISTEN

No Grammys, no problem for Justin Bieber.

The singer – who hosted Saturday Night Live over the weekend – wasn’t nominated for any Grammys this year, but it’s going to take more than that to slow the 18-year-old down.

Last night on Twitter he announced to his 34,000,000+ followers that he was hosting a livestream chat at 8 (same time as the Grammys). Two things to know: 1.) The talk experienced some technical difficulties, and wasn’t able to happen. 2.) He uploaded a shirtless message instead. After venting on Twiter about tech issues, he didn’t want the evening to be a total loss, so he also announced some new music: “since nothing is working and im super upset i feel i gotta make it up to u. i should post a new song on twitter so you can still be excited…its not finished but heres a little part a song I’m working on,” he wrote along with a link to Soundcloud.

Technology really wasn’t on his side last night. The Soundcloud link now isn’t working either, but some helpful Beliebers instantly put the song on YouTube. Check out “You Want Me” below: READ FULL STORY

Justin Bieber becomes most-followed person on Twitter

Miracles happen when you Beliebe.

I’m only happy to see your fans growing in size, you all deserve it! Monsters support you!”

As they say, with great power comes great responsibility. Here are just a couple of the things Bieber has recently put out there in the twitterverse: READ FULL STORY

Selena Gomez covers 'Cry Me A River' -- VIDEO

It seems like only yesterday that a rain-soaked Justin Timberlake was giving a public kiss-off to a Britney Spears lookalike.

With the apparent break up (again!) of teen pop’s current reigning couple, Selena Gomez has turned to the Timberlake classic to tell Justin Bieber she was done. Texting is sooo 2005.

In concert over the weekend, a hippie-fied (Seriously! Check the flowers!) Gomez told the crowd, “This song definitely speaks to me,” before launching into “Cry Me A River.” Girl was definitely working through some feelings – she also covered Taylor Swift’s “I Knew You Were Trouble” and Britney Spears’ “…Baby One More Time,” during the performance.

When Bieber and Gomez broke up (the first time!) in November, Bieber also turned to Timberlake to get the message across, performing “Cry Me A River” in concert. Now, Gomez has returned the favor. What did teenage superstars do before JT and YouTube combined to give them a perfect way to send a “subtle” message to the other? Your move, Biebs.

Madonna had the top-grossing tour of 2012

Call it the Super Bowl bump?

Billboard has announced the list of the 2012’s top-grossing tours, and it looks like Madonna is at the top. Her Madgesty sold out all 72 of the shows she played this year, grossing a grand total of $228,406,085 over the year. Interestingly, her new album  MDNA only landed at No. 44 on the year-end Billboard 200 chart, moving 521,000 units in the U.S. as of December.

After Madonna on the top-grossing tours list is Bruce Springsteen, whose raked in just shy $200 million this year with his Wrecking Ball tour. (He did, however, beat Madonna in overall attendance by about 500,000 people. Like Madonna, he also played 72 shows.) Roger Waters came in third with roughly $186 million (and nearly 50,000 more in attendance than Madge). Michael Jackson The Immortal World Tour by Cirque Du Soleil came in fourth place with about $147 million for the year, which just edged No. 5 Coldplay by roughly $100,000.
