Justin Bieber releases new song on Grammy night -- LISTEN

No Grammys, no problem for Justin Bieber.

The singer – who hosted Saturday Night Live over the weekend – wasn’t nominated for any Grammys this year, but it’s going to take more than that to slow the 18-year-old down.

Last night on Twitter he announced to his 34,000,000+ followers that he was hosting a livestream chat at 8 (same time as the Grammys). Two things to know: 1.) The talk experienced some technical difficulties, and wasn’t able to happen. 2.) He uploaded a shirtless message instead. After venting on Twiter about tech issues, he didn’t want the evening to be a total loss, so he also announced some new music: “since nothing is working and im super upset i feel i gotta make it up to u. i should post a new song on twitter so you can still be excited…its not finished but heres a little part a song I’m working on,” he wrote along with a link to Soundcloud.

Technology really wasn’t on his side last night. The Soundcloud link now isn’t working either, but some helpful Beliebers instantly put the song on YouTube. Check out “You Want Me” below: READ FULL STORY

Justin Bieber becomes most-followed person on Twitter

Miracles happen when you Beliebe.

As of today, Bieber has surpassed Lady Gaga as the most-followed individual on Twitter.  Currently, Bieber has 33,340,747 followers; Gaga, in the number two spot, has 33,334,564. But there’s no hard feelings from Mother Monster. The lady who was the first to pass 10, 20 and then 30 million followers tweeted at Bieber last week, “So proud of @justinbieber and all the Beliebers! I’m only happy to see your fans growing in size, you all deserve it! Monsters support you!”

As they say, with great power comes great responsibility. Here are just a couple of the things Bieber has recently put out there in the twitterverse: READ FULL STORY

Selena Gomez covers 'Cry Me A River' -- VIDEO

It seems like only yesterday that a rain-soaked Justin Timberlake was giving a public kiss-off to a Britney Spears lookalike.

With the apparent break up (again!) of teen pop’s current reigning couple, Selena Gomez has turned to the Timberlake classic to tell Justin Bieber she was done. Texting is sooo 2005.

In concert over the weekend, a hippie-fied (Seriously! Check the flowers!) Gomez told the crowd, “This song definitely speaks to me,” before launching into “Cry Me A River.” Girl was definitely working through some feelings – she also covered Taylor Swift’s “I Knew You Were Trouble” and Britney Spears’ “…Baby One More Time,” during the performance.

When Bieber and Gomez broke up (the first time!) in November, Bieber also turned to Timberlake to get the message across, performing “Cry Me A River” in concert. Now, Gomez has returned the favor. What did teenage superstars do before JT and YouTube combined to give them a perfect way to send a “subtle” message to the other? Your move, Biebs.

Madonna had the top-grossing tour of 2012

Call it the Super Bowl bump?

Billboard has announced the list of the 2012′s top-grossing tours, and it looks like Madonna is at the top. Her Madgesty sold out all 72 of the shows she played this year, grossing a grand total of $228,406,085 over the year. Interestingly, her new album  MDNA only landed at No. 44 on the year-end Billboard 200 chart, moving 521,000 units in the U.S. as of December.

After Madonna on the top-grossing tours list is Bruce Springsteen, whose raked in just shy $200 million this year with his Wrecking Ball tour. (He did, however, beat Madonna in overall attendance by about 500,000 people. Like Madonna, he also played 72 shows.) Roger Waters came in third with roughly $186 million (and nearly 50,000 more in attendance than Madge). Michael Jackson The Immortal World Tour by Cirque Du Soleil came in fourth place with about $147 million for the year, which just edged No. 5 Coldplay by roughly $100,000.

Prisoner plotted to kill Justin Bieber, according to court documents

An imprisoned man whose infatuation with Justin Bieber included a tattoo of the pop star on his leg has told investigators in New Mexico he hatched a plot to kill the singer, according to documents recently filed in a New Mexico court.

An affidavit filed in Las Cruces said Dana Martin told investigators he persuaded a man he met in prison and the man’s nephew to kill Bieber, along with Bieber’s personal bodyguard and two others not connected to the pop star.

The plot contained several gruesome details. Investigators say the plotters wanted to castrate two of the victims with hedge clippers before traveling to New York City to find Bieber. The targets of the castration plot were not connected to Bieber, authorities say, and it doesn’t appear that the pop singer was ever in immediate danger of falling victim to the plot.

Justin Bieber's manager tweets out his displeasure with the Grammys

Someone left the fondue pot out in the cold!

As Taylor Swift and LL Cool J unleashed this year’s round of Grammy nominations last night, Scooter Braun — the high-profile manager that The New Yorker credited as “The Man Who Made Bieber” — was very disappointed when he learned that his prized client would go to sleep that night with zero nominations.

Braun, of course, is nothing if not outspoken, so the idea of Biebs getting bested by upstarts like Frank Ocean (who’s written songs for Bieber before) and fellow Canuck Carly Rae Jepsen (whom Bieber helped get signed to an American label deal) obvious prompted him to send out a series of mixed-t0-outraged Twitter messages.

The tweets were many, so let’s just start with the first quartet he fired off last night:

Best of 2012: The year in lyrics, from Taylor Swift to Carly Rae

call-me-maybe.jpg

Music makes the people come together — but lyrics might be even more powerful as unification tools. Think about it: Whether you’re a rap fiend or a hater of all things hip hop, you have to admire a guy who figures out a way to rhyme “narcissist” with “lobster bisque.” See below to find out what we’ve dubbed 2012′s top five lyrics, which artists warbled 2012′s worst five lyrics, and which lyric won the dubious honor of being the year’s best AND worst at the same time. (Hint: Think “Call Me Maybe.”)

Justin Bieber performs 'Cry Me A River' in concert: What's he trying to tell us? -- VIDEO

There’s now one more lonely guy.

As teens the world over undoubtedly already know, Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez are no longer together. People reports that Gomez ended things over “trust issues,” but Bieber’s latest moves don’t exactly jibe with that version of events.

In concert over the weekend, Bieber performed “Cry Me A River,” Justin Timberlake’s 2002 famous rain-soaked kiss-off to a cheating Britney Spears. Pause. Does this mean Gomez cheated on him? Is he trying to incept everyone as we speak? Is it weird that Timberlake’s decade-old breakup song is circling back around (and around) and coming all the way back around for the ending of another teen dream split?

This isn’t the first time Bieber has performed the song, but it is the first time that people can make a big, huge deal out of it. TMZ reports that Bieber is confident they’ll get back together (make sure to tell that to Gomez’s BFF Taylor Swift!), but if those two crazy kids really are done for good, what other songs would you like to hear him add into his devastation rotation: “Go Your Own Way”? “Everybody Hurts”? “The Scientist”?

So many questions, only 1:34 minutes of footage to overanalyze. Check out the heartbreak below: READ FULL STORY
