Lady Gaga postpones concerts due to injury

Lady Gaga says she’s “heartsick” to postpone four shows after sustaining an injury that’s left her unable to walk.

Lady Gaga brings Born This Way Ball to Los Angeles: On the scene

Gaga-2

The inaugural balls may have been the talk of Washington on Monday night, but it was Lady Gaga’s Born this Way Ball that brought the house down at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.

The pop diva/fashion icon/songstress put on a show that was closer to a Broadway revue than a rock concert, lasting nearly two and a half hours, complete with a goth sci-fi “storyline,” about a dozen costume changes, and a bevvy of tight-ab’ed, midriff-baring dancers.

While Gaga is still a force to be reckoned with – legions of devoted “little monsters” were dressed in all manner of Gaga-ness, from wigs in every color to sky-high heels – the show was not sold out, and the spectacle of Gaga wearing crazy costumes or preaching about LGBT rights, while admirable and fun to see, did not feel as shocking or momentous as it has on past tours. That said, she more than delivered on the promise of an over-the-top glitterfest. READ FULL STORY

Lady Gaga wears gun bra in concert -- PHOTO

Lady Gaga’s choice of wardrobe is causing a stir — again.

The singer wore a top with guns coming out of her chest in concert last Friday. Gaga has done it before (most famously on the cover of Rolling Stone), but this is the first time she’s donned that look after the Newtown tragedy last month. (EW reached out to her rep, who did not return a request for comment.)

As EW previously reported, Sharon Osbourne — midway through a feud with Gaga regarding her daughter Kelly and bullying — asked on The Talk for Gaga to make different wardrobe choices. “Don’t wear guns, don’t allow your fans to use the word “guns” on your website, on your Twitter,” Osbourne said yesterday. “Don’t do it. Have it stopped. One word from her, they will stop.”

The feud has escalated.

What started out as a seemingly simple battle of celebrity words (Lady Gaga accused Kelly Osbourne of bullying, and Sharon Osbourne responded with a long Facebook post) took a turn Monday on The Talk. In the days since Osbourne wrote her response, she and her family have received threats of violence from Gaga’s fans. So Osbourne took to her talk show to address the Little Monsters and to ask Gaga to live up to the mission statement of her Born This Way Foundation.

“My opinion is, Gaga wants a kinder world. Don’t let your fans be so hideously damaging, hurtful, violent, spread violence on your website,” Osbourne said. Click past the jump to watch Osbourne’s impassioned plea.

Lady Gaga hops onto documentary bandwagon with photographer Terry Richardson

Music docs: they’re so hot right now! Perhaps that’s why Lady Gaga gave all her Little Monsters a very special Christmas present yesterday by announcing that her “Cake” collaborator Terry Richardson is making a film documenting Gaga’s life, as well as “the creation of ARTPOP” — Gaga’s upcoming album — and the artist’s devoted fanbase.

Madonna had the top-grossing tour of 2012

Call it the Super Bowl bump?

Billboard has announced the list of the 2012’s top-grossing tours, and it looks like Madonna is at the top. Her Madgesty sold out all 72 of the shows she played this year, grossing a grand total of $228,406,085 over the year. Interestingly, her new album  MDNA only landed at No. 44 on the year-end Billboard 200 chart, moving 521,000 units in the U.S. as of December.

After Madonna on the top-grossing tours list is Bruce Springsteen, whose raked in just shy $200 million this year with his Wrecking Ball tour. (He did, however, beat Madonna in overall attendance by about 500,000 people. Like Madonna, he also played 72 shows.) Roger Waters came in third with roughly $186 million (and nearly 50,000 more in attendance than Madge). Michael Jackson The Immortal World Tour by Cirque Du Soleil came in fourth place with about $147 million for the year, which just edged No. 5 Coldplay by roughly $100,000.

Jack White slams Lady Gaga in Esquire UK: 'All image with no meaning' -- UPDATE: White clarifies his comments in a formal statement

In a move that will surprise approximately no one, rock messiah Jack White has expressed his distaste for Lady Gaga. The former White Stripes frontman told Esquire UK, “I don’t think she lives it because it’s all artifice.”

He added, “It’s all image with no meaning behind it. You can’t sink your teeth into it. It’s a sound bite. It’s very of this age, because that’s what people want. They want a Twitter line, a jpeg, an MP3.” READ FULL STORY
