M.I.A.’s next full-length album Matangi isn’t due until April 15, but she’s delivered something to whet your appetite until then: an extended “Matangi” mix.
The “Bad Girls” artist teamed up with the fashion house Kenzo to release “Matangi,” an eight-plus minute mix that debuted during Paris Fashion Week this weekend. The track, which M.I.A. tweeted out, begins with some of the Sri Lankan-born musician’s favorite ingredients — South Asian melodies, Hindi-movie singing, twisted beats, and thumping bass. M.I.A. herself shows up five minutes into the track.
