Mariah Carey pushing new, 'interactive' 'melodic beverage' called Butterfly

Have you ever wanted to know what the “magic of Mariah Carey” tastes like? If so, the Elusive Chanteuse may have just the thing for you.

At a press conference in New York City Tuesday, Mariah Carey debuted her new non-alcoholic pink-colored beverage Butterfly, which has been described as a “melodic beverage inspired by the magic of Mariah Carey.” Butterfly comes in a curvy pink bottle, and, based on Carey’s presentation on Tuesday, is meant to be enjoyed from a champagne flute. Mariah Carey (also known as the Elusive Chanteuse) premiered a new song on Today Friday morning during the program’s Summer Concert Series.

The song, “You Don’t Know What To Do,” sounds like old-school Mimi with some help from rapper Wale. Her upcoming album Me. I Am Mariah… The Elusive Chaneteuse comes out May 27.

The artwork and track listing for Mariah Carey’s upcoming album is out — along with a May 27 album release date.

Carey recently told Billboard she was planning on taking a cue from Beyoncé by dropping a sort-of-surprise album. This album, titled Me. I Am Mariah… The Elusive Chanteuse isn’t really a surprise like Beyoncé‘s self-titled release because, well, she announced it.

But Carey did try to hype up her listeners late Wednesday with a video, which gives some insight into the new album and features what the singer calls the only self-portrait she’s ever drawn.
