Watch Run the Jewels perform 'Early' on Letterman

Last night on The Late Show with David Letterman, El-P and Killer Mike’s hip-hop duo Run the Jewels performed “Early” off their new (pretty great) album, Run the Jewels 2. With backup singers wearing skeleton face paint, of course, because Halloween.

As good as that was, however, Meow the Jewels might be better.

Foo Fighters to join Letterman for week-long residency

Foo Fighters are taking a page from Justin Timberlake’s book and taking on a week-long residency on a late night show ahead of the release of their upcoming album, Sonic Highways.

The band will join David Letterman as The Late Show‘s musical guests beginning Oct. 13 and will end their residency Oct. 17, the same day Grohl’s documentary series, Sonic Highways, premieres on HBO.

The series documents the making of Foo Fighters’ latest album, which was recorded in eight different cities ranging from Seattle to New Orleans. Together, the songs are what Grohl calls “a love letter to the history of American music.” READ FULL STORY

Led Zeppelin's Jimmy Page, Robert Plant, John Paul Jones to give rare interview on 'Letterman' -- EXCLUSIVE

Here comes another round of Led Zeppelin reunion rumors.

The revered rock band’s three surviving members — Robert Plant, John Paul Jones, and current Rolling Stone cover boy Jimmy Page — have been confirmed for a rare TV interview on The Late Show With David Letterman next week, EW can exclusively announce.

The Led Zep vets have been spending a fair amount of time together lately as they promote this month’s Celebration Day, the DVD/CD version of the reunion-ish concert that they staged in London back in 2007. And as we reported last month, the trio’s recent encounters with the press have resulted in “politely terse” to “cheekily hostile” interactions, especially regarding the question of a band reunion. All of this should hopefully make their chat with Dave an interesting one.

And for those wondering, Paloma Faith is booked as Letterman’s musical guest that night. So unless an incredibly bizarre collaboration goes down, it’s unlikely that Led Zep will be rocking out Ed Sullivan Theater.

Carrie Underwood performs new song 'Cupid's Got a Shotgun,' talks husband and vocab lessons -- Watch it here

Carrie Underwood’s new album Blown Away is out today, and to celebrate, she performed a mini concert last night for the Live on Letterman webcast.

What we learned: Even though she still has music’s best legs, she’s worried she’s not quite in tour shape yet. She said she was losing her breath after one number, but we assume that’s just be because she was plowing through a set list she kept purposefully upbeat (save for one ballad, “Jesus Take the Wheel”) and even her fast songs require ample belting.

She played several songs off the new record, including the fiddle footstomper “Cupid’s Got a Shotgun,” which she admitted her husband, hockey star Mike Fisher, questioned the first time she let him listen to it. (She concedes that it’s a little out of character.)

She also said she had to pull out every hunting reference she’d ever heard Fisher make while writing the song: “I’m like, ‘Remington? I think that’s a gun. Yeah. Yeah, yeah, let’s say that. Kevlar? What is that? I know that’s something, something important,'” she told the crowd. “But the other writers had to teach me what the word ‘barrage’ meant. I was like, ‘What is that? Is that a word? You guys are making crap up, trying to stick it in a song.’ But I learned something new, so that was fun.”

Watch her perform the song on Live on Letterman below. And props to her guitarist Shawn Tubbs — subbing in for Brad Paisley, who handles the guitar solo on album. READ FULL STORY

Lady Gaga dresses crazy, eats paper, declares herself 'Batman' on 'The Late Show With David Letterman'

Lady Gaga‘s new album Born This Way has been out in the universe for a little over a day (see EW’s review), and her complete takeover of all media has already exceeded expectations. On Monday, she unleashed the album, dropped in on the ladies of The View, changed her clothes completely, and then sat down with David Letterman on CBS’ The Late Show.

Clad in little more than her underpants, a leather jacket and a Zorro mask, she talked about some notorious rumors about her (including whether or not she likes picking up hitchhikers), repeatedly expressed her excitement over the fresh release of her album, flirted with the host, and declared that she was Batman. Watch the full clip after the jump. It’s a long one, but it’s worth it.
