Avril Lavigne and boyfriend Brody Jenner reportedly bloodied in late-night bar fight

What a difference a few hours can make.

On Saturday, Brody Jenner tweeted, “Having the best night with the love of my life @AvrilLavigne so happy right now!! .. #Movember CRUSH!!”

Unfortunately, the best took a turn for the worse when both Jenner and Lavigne were involved in a bloody bar fight later that evening in Los Angeles.

TMZ reports that the tussle occurred outside the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel around 1:00 a.m. Sunday morning.  While at first it seemed Jenner had just gotten into a bar brawl, reports now indicate that apparently Lavigne and another unidentified woman got physical, and Jenner was smashed in the head with a bottle while trying to break it up.

Lavigne’s verison of events is a little different. She tweeted yesterday, “I don’t fight. I don’t believe in it. To clear things up I got attacked by 5 people last night out of nowhere. Not cool. My face is f***ed,” and “As in black eye, bloody nose, hair ripped out, scratches, bruises and cuts. So not ok to be abusive to others. Violence is NEVER the answer.”

Jenner gave his own update Sunday, tweeting, “Interesting Saturday night… Just got of the hospital with a new scar on my face.. Charges/chargers!!!”

Oddly, according to sources, Jenner was the only one involved who spoke to police — the others (including Lavigne) had split by the time police arrived. Jenner apparently refused medical attention and went to the hospital on his own.

It’s not clear what the fight was about and so far no arrests have been made.

UPDATE: Jenner’s manager Eric Podwall released the following statement to EW: “Brody Jenner is recovering at home after being assaulted in an unprovoked attack this past Saturday night.  He appreciates all the calls of support and well wishes.  As this is an ongoing police investigation, there will be no further statements at this time.”

Madonna launches new 'Truth or Dare' lifestyle collection; we suggest five products she should consider

A couple of years ago, Madonna made her official foray into the fashion world with “Material Girl,” a contemporary line aimed at teenage girls.

Now, she’s ready to take on fashionistas her own age — and, well, slightly younger — with “Truth or Dare,” a new lifestyle collection aimed at women between the ages of 27-50.

“Over the past several years, I have been approached countless times to create my own brand,” Madonna said in a statement to Yahoo!. “The timing is right and I have found great partners in Iconix, who can help translate my vision to reality.”

Madonna is apparently planning to kick off “Truth or Dare” (which is also, famously, the title of a 1991 documentary about her Blond Ambition tour) with a fragrance next April, after which she’ll possibly add on accessories, handbags and underwear. Whether or not actual clothing makes the cut remains to be seen.

Now, since we don’t have much detail yet on what exactly the line will feature, we decided to come up with a few creative ideas of our own. Check out the list below to see the five products we think Madonna’s collection could include, and then share your own predictions in the comments. READ FULL STORY

Ol' Dirty Bastard biopic casting -- Tracy Morgan and Eddie Griffin reportedly vying for the role

You know the Wu-Tang rules, kids: C.R.E.A.M. (Casting Rules Everything Around Movies).

It may be that getting the Morgan — as in erstwhile comedian and 30 Rock star Tracy — will bring in maximum dollar dollar bills y’all; he’s the most famous name mentioned so far in the move to bring Ol’ Dirty Bastard’s life story to the big screen.

ODB’s cousin Raeshawn has penned the tale of the man born Russell Tyrone Jones’ rise to hip-hop legend before his 2004 death from a drug overdose just two days before his 36th birthday.

Eddie Griffin (Malcolm and Eddie, Undercover Brother) is also in the running, according to press reports, and he may be the most likely candidate; he actually knew Dirty, and has reportedly already signed a letter of intent to take on the role.

“Eddie Griffin is down,” surviving Wu-Tang Clan member RZA told XXL. “Me and Eddie talked about it, laughed about it. Tracy Morgan, he wanna do it [too]. I said ‘Ya’ll both kinda can do it…  [but] Eddie spent time with Dirty, they knew each other well.”

Readers, tell us what you think: who has sufficient amounts of grilled-out, Wu-growly shimmy shimmy ya to take on ODB in the cineplex — Morgan, Griffin, or someone else casting agents haven’t considered yet?

Posthumous Amy Winehouse album to be released

Nicole Scherzinger releases seventh(!) post-Pussycats song, begging listeners, 'Try With Me': Will you?

Pussycat Doll. Sing-Off judge. X-Factor mentor. Is there anything Nicole Scherzinger can’t do?

Apparently, release an album.

After six attempts at launching her solo career Stateside — she continues to chart well in Europe — with singles that just didn’t take off, Ms. Scherzinger is back with a new song and video, this time for a track called “Try With Me.”

If the song hits, perhaps her album Killer Love, which was only released internationally, will finally get a U.S. release. (She’s been trying to go solo since 2007, although “Try With Me” is technically not yet slated a single for upcoming U.S. release.) If it doesn’t, one has to wonder how much longer various labels will tolerate an artist that audiences just don’t seem to like all that much on her own.

Check out the mossy-piano-driven ballad-turned-thumper, which features the sad (and perhaps sadly apropos) reflection,“Why does it feel like you care when I know that you don’t?” below: READ FULL STORY

Lyric Videos: Is this a trend now? Britney Spears' 'Criminal' joins the YouTube fray

Lyric videos: They aren’t just for your kid sister’s Justin Bieber fan clips anymore.

Yesterday, Britney Spears released an official lyric video for “Criminal,” her upcoming fourth single off Femme Fatale.

First of all, awesome: That song has a darker edge than some of her previous work, but still retains her trademark computer-y syrup-y sweet voice, if that’s your thing (and it’s kind of mine).

But it got me wondering: When did lyric videos become an official, publicist-touted release? Spears still plans to be put out a traditional music video—in fact, she’s been making headlines across the pond for her Criminal video shoot. So apparently, this lyric video is just to build buzz and get you talking about the song.

Jennifer Lopez outruns stunts and shills for Fiat in video for 'Papi': Watch it here

If you watched any NFL football yesterday (or at least the underwhelming drubbing the New York Jets dealt out to the Jacksonville Jaguars), then you undoubtedly caught the new commercial for Fiat that prominently features Jennifer Lopez, a series of daredevil stuntmen, and Lopez’s latest Love? single “Papi.”

And shortly after you realized it was an ad for Fiat, you probably thought to yourself, “Huh?”

The whole thing has been clarified a bit thanks to the just-premiered clip for “Papi,” which is essentially a five-minute version of the car ad you’ve already seen, with a plug for Crown Royal Black tossed in for good measure.

Refreshingly, there’s a narrative in the clip that finds Lopez eating some sort of magical cookie that makes every man she comes across obsess over her. The chase becomes infinitely more complicated (and expensive) until she finds herself trapped in a flash-mob production of West Side Story.

You can watch the whole thing below, though prepare to suppress your sudden craving for 90-proof liquor. READ FULL STORY

R. Kelly says his new album, 'Black Panties,' gets back to his nasty ways: Are you going to miss his sweeter side?

Last winter R&B icon R. Kelly dropped Love Letter, his most tasteful album in years. The ‘60s soul-inspired set was more about affection and courtship than threesomes and other R-rated exploits, which was the lane Kells had been cruising in for a while.

But yesterday on 107.5 WGCI’s The Morning Riot, Kelly announced that he’s headed back to Nastyville on his forthcoming album, brilliantly titled Black Panties.

“I just did the whole Love Letter joint and everybody’s thinking, ‘ That’s the direction he’s going now,’” Kelly said on his Chicago hometown station. “No! That was a moment in time, just like ‘Ignition’ and ‘Bump N’ Grind.’ Now this Black Panties is the new 12 Play.”

Of course he’s referring to his classic album, one that’s warmed up many fans’ nights since it came out in November 1993. Kelly even confessed that he has three kids of his own thanks to it. Whoa.

Kelly promises that the first single from Panties, “10 Minutes,” is coming soon. Though he didn’t reveal any details about it, I imagine that what we’ll be hearing will be fit to soundtrack various bedroom romps.

But considering the success he had with Love Letter, is leaning on raunchiness the way to go?  Its first single, “When a Woman Loves,” scored him major points in the R&B adult-contemporary world. And let’s not forget that Kells is a grown man. He’s 44. I’m not sure I want to hear about him doing things that artists nearly half his age (hello, Trey) do.

What do you think? Looking forward to Kelly getting back to his explicit ways? Or should he “grow up,” so to speak?

Rapper Game quotes Beyonce, talks about gay people, and really should have stopped there

For all the violence and misogyny present on his chart-topping The R.E.D. Album, Game has been getting into hot water lately thanks to stuff he’s been saying outside of his music. He got into a bunch of trouble a few weeks ago for pulling a Twitter prank on the sheriff’s office, and now he’s mouthing off about AIDS.

During a conversation with VLADTV, the Compton rapper born Jayceon Taylor was asked about whether or not it would surprise him if an established rapper came out as gay. “I don’t have a problem with gay people,” he said. “Beyoncé should have said, ‘Who run the world? Gays.’ Because they’re everywhere. And rightfully so … It’s a free country. The Game does not have a problem with gay people.”

That all sounds well and good, but then the conversation drifts into the sort of conspiracy theories you might hear on that TV show hosted by the former wrestler. (No, the other one.) “Game has a problem with people who are pretending not to be gay, but who are gay,” he said, suddenly becoming yet another wrestler. “The number one issue with that is you could be fooling somebody, and you can give them AIDS, and they can die. That in the closet s— is real scary. It’s not cool to be in the closet. Be gay and be proud.”

So in Game’s mind, there are a lot of closet homosexuals (carrying AIDS, of course) who make a habit of faking out ladies to spread the disease? That seems less like an epidemic and more like an urban legend the dude heard once. Snopes is silent on this one, so it’s probably got a few rumors to go before it becomes a full-blown piece of playground fakery.

In all honesty, it’s refreshing to hear the first part of Game’s statement— too many rappers are hostile towards gay people (and very willing to voice those opinions in an open forum).

Still, the scenario wherein closeted guys fool women into sex and kill them with AIDS seems like a problem that is not actually a problem. You know, like the debt ceiling.

Michael Jackson tribute tour to be launched by David Gest, Tito Jackson, and more

David Gest—a concert promoter and longtime Jackson family friend perhaps best known as the short-term spouse of Liza Minnelli—is spearheading a tribute to the late King of Pop entitled “A Jackson Named Michael: Remembering a Legend.”

Reuters reports that Gest has recruited Michael’s brother Tito and sister Rebbie, singer Deneice Williams, and others to sing songs and tell stories from the late icon’s life, and participate in a question-and-answer session with audience members at a series of dates throughout Europe and the U.K.

“The majority of the show will be reminiscences and stories about Michael that the public has never heard,” he said in a statement.

The tour is scheduled to kick off  in the U.K. in March of 2012; a controversial one-night tribute to Michael is still scheduled for this Oct. 8 in Cardiff, Wales.

The Jersey Shore's Pauly D working on an album with 50 Cent: You ready to fist pump?

Jersey Shore’s Pauly D recently revealed that he plans to do more on the music front than just DJ.

“I’m focusing on music. That’s my passion,” he told Billboard of his future plans. “I’m working with 50 Cent now.  I’m going to do an album with him. It’s going to be a little bit of everything. It’s almost like DJ Khaled and kind of David Guetta but my own DJ Pauly D style.”

There was a time that news like that would elicit shock and awe from me. Something like, “I can’t believe a reality TV star is putting out an album!!!”

But I’m all screamed out. This stuff happens often. Also, it must be noted that Pauly actually has a skill. DJing is no joke craft. He’s currently holding court on Britney Spears’ Femme Fatale tour. Whether he’ll be a talent gatherer with a good ear for music like DJ Khaled or a gifted, hit-making producer like Guetta remains to be seen, though.

For now, I’m going to save my voice, because, hey, he might know what he’s doing. Working with 50 is a good start, too. He definitely knows a thing or, um, 50, about big albums, great songs, and singles.

What do you guys expect from Pauly D’s forthcoming project? Looking forward to fist pumping to his beats? Let us know.
