Fans pay nearly $400 to take super awkward photos with Avril Lavigne

When fans paid 800 reais (about $360 U.S. dollars) to meet Avril Lavigne in Brazil, they found out there were some rules to follow: They could take a photo with the singer, with a strict No Touching Allowed policy — no high fives, no hugs, no take-backs. Avril, why’d you have to go and make things so complicated?

One Redditor posted some of the photos online and they are horribly, horribly awkward. Check them out over at Reddit (but proceed at your own risk).

In the meantime, please enjoy these Buzzfeed photos of Rihanna meet-and-greets, which look approximately 9000% more fun.

Rick Ross and David Copperfield hang out on stage in Vegas -- VIDEO

Rick-Ross

You know that thing when rappers shout out the name of a seemingly completely unrelated public figure in the middle of a verse, making you ponder how it would be to walk in on Robin Williams lecturing Jay-Z  about seizing the day in an empty English classroom or eavesdrop on the Lil Wayne-Bill Gates phone call wherein they discuss the finer points of exceeding baller status?

The Meek Mill-assisted Rick Ross track “Black Magic,” one of several standouts on Maybach Music Group’s recent compilation effort Self Made Vol. 2, has a hook that rhymes: “Poof! There go the car/Poof! there go the crib/Poof! A hundred mil, David Copperfield/David Copperfield, David Copperfield.”

You know where this is headed.

Rick Ross was performing in Las Vegas last night, and revealed in the midst of his set that he had a special guest waiting in the wings: “This is a mother—-in’ icon.  In his field, he the greatest that ever did it.  So, I want you to drop the music at the same time.  Drop the music, let’s go.”

And then, this happened:

Iggy Azalea premieres 'Flash,' video for 'Murda Bizness' — Watch and listen here

Iggy Azalea is the queen of making me feel uncomfortable. She’s also been really busy, premiering both a new song and video in the days leading up to her Glory EP, out this weekend.

Today the Australian-born rapper and T.I. signee debuted “Flash,” an ultra-explicit Mike Posner-assisted booty call that unfolds over a slick R&B beat. It has the same filthy spirit as Kelly Rowland’s “Motivation,” but it’s a little more forthcoming with the dirty talk. “How long before you hit my exit on the freeway?/We gon’ freak and let Pandora DJ,” Iggy raps… And that’s about the only line we can publish here. (Needless to say, this is not the song to blast from your cubicle if you’re still jamming at work.)

Over the weekend Iggy also treated us to the video for “Murda Bizness,” and thankfully, she doesn’t take its themes literally (as she sometimes does in her visuals), though the song’s click-click bang-bang chorus does feel a little poorly timed, to say the least.

Instead, Iggy opted for a Toddlers & Tiaras scenario, where egos, excess, and cutthroat competition rule just as hard as they do in the club. Cocaine-referencing lyrics over shots of Iggy pushing Pixy Stix still unnerve us in the way everything about that show does, but Iggy’s probably just taking her cues from the real honey boo boo children of the world — don’t think we didn’t see that little beauty queen taking a swig of her special juice, Iggs.

If the pageant concept doesn’t do it for you, there’s always the video for her Steve Aoki collaboration, “Beatdown,” which premiered earlier this month.

It’s basically Iggy whipping her shiny blonde pony tail around in the middle of a boxing ring for four minutes. Way to play to your strengths, girl!

Jennifer Lopez’s “Dance Again” video: ‘Inception’ orgy in a perfume bottle?

jennifer-lopez-2

The video for J. Lo’s newest sweaty, synthy club-banging pop anthem premiered last night on American Idol, and although the song is relatively harmless and catchy, the video is…confusing.

A stream of vodka flowing in zero gravity alerts us at the beginning that this isn’t your madre‘s J.Lo video — a fact further validated when she starts going at it with her tattooed paramour in a zero-gravity hotel corridor.

Whether it’s Lopez dancing like a glittering Latina Silver Surfer or the dramatic St. Elsewhere-like twist at the end (did we mention that the entire thing takes place inside a perfume bottle? Because it does), the video for “Dance Again” is something worth checking out, even if you’re not a Lopez fan. READ FULL STORY

50 Cent agrees to tweet nude pics of himself if the Giants lose the Super Bowl

50-Cent

If you don’t already have a team to root for in this year’s Super Bowl, and depending on how you feel about the guy who brought the world “Candy Shop,” you might want to pick up a Patriots jersey this week.

Why? Because 50 Cent’s crotch says so.

Following in the great football tradition of taking pictures of your junk to send out into the world, the “Outta Control” rapper recently raised the Super Sunday stakes by making an unusual bet: to tweet a picture of his private parts if the New York Giants lose.

The wiener wager was prompted by an overeager Twitter follower with the handle MyBestAssets, who tweeted at Fiddy:

“Lets bet. If the Giants lose the Superbowl, u must post ur [d---] on the twitter. If they win, I’ll post my boobs & face on here. Bet?”

After careful consideration, the rapper — whose penchant for Twitter flirtation is well documented — replied with the following:

“Ok”

OK! Don’t mess this one up, Tom Brady!

But Fiddy isn’t just putting his dignity on the line, either. He also told rapper and Cash Money CEO Bryan “Birdman” Williams that he would throw a cool million dollars behind Eli Manning’s team, having already scored a half million bucks betting on Big Blue in the playoffs.

Today in music beefs: Chris Cornell vs. Kanye

Another week, another Kanye controversy.

Yesterday, fans at Australia’s Big Day Out fest became understandably upset when West showed up 45 minutes late to his own performance, and they expressed their discontent by chanting “bulls—” in Yeezy’s direction.

But not all of the jeering came from the audience. West’s delayed, allegedly ballerina-filled performance happened to bleed into the Soundgarden show a stage over, irking frontman Chris Cornell.

The “Black Hole Sun” singer let himself rip, telling his audience:

“Sounds like there’s children playing music there. Retarded children, retarded as in held back. There’s no other word for it.”

Your move, ‘Ye! Though you may have to grab the baton from angry advocacy groups for the mentally disabled.

Chris Brown's media strategy for 2012: no talking

Good Morning America‘s studio windows can rest easy this year.

According to his manager Tina Davis, Chris Brown won’t be allowed to do any interviews for the rest of 2012, a measure intended to protect the gaffe-prone singer from himself.

The strategy had actually been set “a while back,” Davis said. She continues:

“We’re not trying to be rude, selfish or disrespectful to anyone in any way. If people are going to judge anything, judge him for his talent. He signed up to sing and entertain. Not to talk about his personal life.”

But worry not, Breezy fans: Brown’s always vibrant Twitter account is still alive and well — for now. And as Kanye taught us yesterday, that may be more than enough.

50 Cent on Twitter: 'I don't think I'm gonna live much longer'

Once upon a time, 50 Cent had birthdays on his mind.

But 2003 was a long time ago, and now the rapper’s been weighed down by the other end of that spectrum, as evidenced by a number despondent dispatches he sent out on his Twitter account recently.

“I don’t think I’m gonna live much longer,” the rapper told his nearly five-and-a-half million followers.

Shortly before that, 50 had lamented, “I have lost all the faith in the team I’m on,” alluding to the troubles he and his label Interscope have been having. “I have nothing left to say,”  the rapper continued. “I will not be promoting my music.”

Of course, 50  — who reportedly made more than $50 million when he “took quarter-water and sold it for two bucks” as VitaminWater — does have something to promote: his new six-hour energy drink, Street King.

Perhaps it was with that in mind that the rapper assured us in a later tweet, “To be conscious that life is short is not suicidal.” Though 50 did add,”I’m good if I die tonight.”

Justin Bieber and Mariah Carey's 'All I Want For Christmas Is You' video has arrived -- VIDEO

Get ready for the cheeriest Macy’s commercial you’re going to see this season.

Justin Bieber has released the video for “All I Want For Christmas Is You,” his duet with Mariah Carey off his Christmas album Under the Mistletoe. And I’ll leave you all to debate the relative vocal merits of his take versus Carey’s iconic original– don’t forget the awesome Love Actually version! — but I can’t get past the clip.

Here are my five takeaways after watching it (Spoiler alert: I want to go to Macy’s):

1. Mariah Carey’s sexy santa outfit: Seriously, that woman hasn’t aged a day since 1994.

2. The intro begins with quick shots between Mimi’s thighs and Bieber’s eyes, making me all kinds of uncomfortable.

3. At the moment (1:15) when Santa hands out tickets to meet Justin, I hope you all notice the tickets say ‘Midnight at MACY’S.’ They might as well have annotated all of the Bieber paraphernalia you can buy at MACY’S! MACY’S: Making your holiday dreams come true!

4.I’m a sucker for a puppy. Sorry Justin, that dog with a bow in the sleigh is the cutest thing about this. I want him for Christmas, please.

5. The product placement. Oh, the product placement! This thing makes a Kardashian wedding look homegrown. In addition to the Macy’s tickets, we’ve got multiple Nitendo3DSs, shoes, and jewelry.  My favorite moment may be when they stop showing individual products and just let Bieber flat-out boogie in the middle of a full display.

Lady Gaga releases two-minute preview of 'Marry The Night': watch here!

What a tease!

Lady Gaga has just released a two-minute preview for her new video, “Marry The Night” and it’s a doozy. Forgoing an elaborate costume, Gaga still manages to shock in a mousy brown bob and hospital gown, lying atop a gurney in a hospital fashioned similarly to the bath haus in the “Bad Romance” video.

The highly stylized clip has a lot of voiceover, with Gaga intoning, “And truthfully the lie of it all is much more honest, because I invented it,” and “It’s not that I’ve been dishonest, it’s just that I loathe reality.” This is a common theme of her concerts: getting lost in the fantasy; swept up in a dream. And on it’s own, that idea is not necessarily a bad thing.

But judging from the clip, it appears her reality is a suicide attempt; the video is dark, but also humorous — a side eye alongside emotional upheaval. It’s more than a little disturbing.
