The blogs are buzzing today about the similarities between the videos for Ciara’s "Love Sex Magic" and Beyonce’s "Diva," along with leaked footage of choreographer Sheryl Murakami’s demo version of B’s upcoming clip for "Ego." To put it bluntly, they’re claiming that Ciara jacked Beyonce’s swagger. Is it true? Reps for both singers declined to comment, but it’s awful hard to deny when you look at this composite image of screen grabs from all three videos that’s floating around the Internet. What say you, Music Mixers? Is Ciara a Sasha Fierce copycat? Is she capital F fierce in her own right? Or is this all much ado about nothing?

You’ve got to be kidding me. Ciara wasn’t even thinking about a damn Beyonce on the video set. All she was concerned about was showing another side of herself. And since when is Beyonce an innovator herself? No shade, but she copies things ALL the time and everyone knows it. I can’t believe you would post this ignorant crap.
P.S. Ciara got her inspiration for the “Love Sex Magic” video from the Crazy Horse show in Las Vegas, since you’re so concerned.

Copying (cloning) is the new thing in pop music. Everybody steals from everybody, sample, hooks….the only “innovator” these days seem to be Prince and he’s lawyered up to stop that nonsense.
oh please, Ciara has been a copycat for years. She’s never had talent, that’s why girls that came out after her are much more sucessful. When she first came out, she was trying to be just like Aaliyah (god rest her soul). That didn’t quite pan out, so now she’s found someone else to replicate. Funny, she claims to hate B, so why try so hard to be like her? Loser.
I like them both (obviously Beyonce over the other) so I don’t really care. I mainly just get annoyed at all the blog postings where people get way too furious over this stuff. But Ciara even recorded a mixtape version of Diva so I have to admit that I think Beyonce’s in her eyeline.
If people remember there was drama between B and Ciara when Beyonce first released her album. There was a lot of chatter about Beyonce’s, “If I were a Boy” and the similarities in concept the Ciara’s, “Like A Boy”. Ciara even commented about the song similarity “drama” during an interview with NY’s Hot 97. Ciara stated, “I mean it’s a cool song…The Song Is Different But It Does Have The Same Concept Of Mines She Looks Beautiful In The Video I Will Say That”. Based on that, I wouldn’t be surprised id Ciara decided to take a swipe at Beyonce with her new video. To either get back at Beyonce or to simply create a stir and publicity for her new album.
OMG!!! WHATEVER! I love me some B, and Ciara, but let me break this down for everybody. First of all, Beyonce’s crappy “If I were a boy” was crap copy compared to Ciara’s “Like a boy” from like two years ago now. Secondly, I felt like B ripped off quite a bit of Lady GaGa’s style for her Diva video, but nobody mentions either of these points. I love Beyonce. I love Ciara. They have copied each other and others. BOTH OF THEM HAVE. Aaliyah anybody? As much as I love B, Sasha Fierce isn’t that hot. B-day was better. I’ll reserve judgement on Ciara until her album drops.
True Ciara did a version of Diva, but her’s sounded better because she gave the song more “meat.” Also, that song called for other artists to put their twist on it b/c Bey was saying she’s the top dog. I mean in rap music people do that sort of thing all the time. How many “A Milli” rips did I hear last summer?

I’ve seen a lot of videos with a lot of ‘familiar’ settings as previous ones – and directed by the same person. The PCD’s “I Hate This Part” – total rip off of the Backstreet Boys “Incomplete” – and it was the same director!
Ciara purposely set out to copy Beyonce–that and letting Timberlake grope her are the only things that will get her a column. She gets no attention unless she grabs at the hems of real popstars. LOL I’m just keeping it real.
