The Jonas Brothers have released a video for "Paranoid," the kinda catchy lead single off Lines, Vines and Trying Times (due June 16). In the clip, a bunch of Kevin Jonas clones stand around looking confused, Joe Jonas avoids death in the wrestling wring, and Nick Jonas engages in a high-speed chase with a femme fatale-type girl. First question: Should Nick Jonas really be driving without a parent or legal guardian? Second question: Out of all the Jonases, why pick Kevin to be cloned? Third question: The video is clearly another step by the Bros. to look more adult and grown-up. Do you think they pull it off?

I love the video they pull it off for sure
I love it… Although I did wonder at Nick driving and rather wish they’d cloned Joe instead… It definately works though, especially since Paranoid is a much more grown up sound too
You ask many good questions. Nick is old enough to drive. I would have cloned any of them but since I liked Nick in the car, go ahead and clone Kevin. I think they pulled off the much older and mature look helped by the the use of Nick’s more mature voice. I thought the video made total sense because it basically was about them losing it mentally and they portrayed that well–as in they are paranoid. I think this was so much better than any video they’ve done before.
I’m confused, what is the issue with driving? Are 16 year olds not allowed to drive alone anymore?
Yeah, you know, if made sense to me….each of the sequences was a metaphor…however, somebody else might translate it differently. I think that they did pull of an older vibe. Thats a hard thing to do, so kudos to them
As a fan of the JoBros, I am ok with them cloning Kevin, i think he is the cutestone anyway. Although I do wonder what Joe does other than look pretty. Kevin plays and sings back up, Nick writes, plays eveything, and is lead vocal on some songs. But Joe is lead vocals part of the time and then occasionally plays the tamborine or some other minor percussion instrument. WTF, is he only there to look pretty?
I’m NOT being ‘paranoid’ but whoever the JoBros. paid to edit this here video needs to be fired or docked in pay, because of all the scenes where they are playing the instruments together in the empty lot, if you freeze the video at the 3:03 mark, there is some dude wearing glasses playing a guitar or bass (I can’t tell) who is CLEARLY not a Jonas brother or a clone. Since this is the ONLY appearance by anyone but the JoBros. playing an instrument in the clip, I figure this has to be some editing mistake…or am I being PARANOID?! haha
they definitely pulled it off
Nick CAN drive, why not Kevin, and yes, they are growing up and maturing. They should break away from Disney or they will fade eventually
I love the song and the video! of course nick is old enough to drive by himself, he is 16 but acts and talks like he is 35! Plus he turns 17 this year! Personally, I dont mind they cloned Kevin! Kevin is good looking! People need to stop picking on him he is cute and really sweet! and Joe does more than look pretty! There are alot of songs where he sings lead! And he can play more than tiny percussion intstruments! k? in the songs love is on its way, a little bit longer, the movie camp rock, please be mine (the original version) he plays the guitar! just cause he doesn’t play it all the time doesn’t mean he cant! also he plays the keyboard in goodnight and goodbye, hold on, and year 3000. he even said he prefers to interact with the crowd and move around when perfroming than having to play an intstrument! and I think they did very well in looking more adult! they are truley talented!
oh, and the other people in the video, playing instruments, is rest of their band! so what if they aren’t realted to the JoBros, but of course its gonna show some other people than just the Jobros! and it shows more than “just the dude in the glasses” by the way he has a name! its John Tyalor and he plays the other guitar, Jack, plays the drums, ryan plays the keyboard, and garbo plays bass! In all their music videos, it shows rest of the band! and i think, once again this video was really good and they did pull it off!
I think they definitely pulled it off.
Nick has his driver’s license, by the way, and why NOT pick Kevin?
Of all their music videos, this is my favorite because it has metaphors but is still really fun to watch.

Actually, most of their songs are written by all 3 of them. Nick doesn’t write ALL the songs. He does play the most instruments though.
But Joe is the frontman, he keeps the crowd excited and on their feet, he sings lead with Nick in most songs and he can also play piano and guitar. But most of the time he’s not playing an instrument because, being the front-man, he has to run around everywhere, jump everywhere and be “the entertainer”
Nick has a drivers license number one. Number two, the video is about being parnoid. If you are walking in a hallway and all of suddens get into a wrestling ring, wouldn’t you be paranoid? I would. Kevin is showing how paranoid he is seeing different sides of himself being portrayed in the society (in newspapers, magazines, online, on tv, etc.) Nick driving next to a girl who he likes, and he is hallucinating or maybe even imagining the whole thing. The Jonas Brothers have been saying they are growing up with their music and into grown men. They don’t just want to be a child pop group. They want a older fan base, and the one they have now. The fans make them parnoid. The empty lot could make you feel paranoid like someone is watching you. You don’t exactly know what is going on. This video is amazing and it needs credit for being a amzing video. Kevin, Nick, and Joe look amzing in the video.
Paranoid was a great music video. I thought the concept was well thought out. Nick has his driver’s license so I’m not sure why he can’t drive by himself? Kevin was a great canidate to be cloned, who doesn’t want to see lots of Kevins? Thank heaven for Kevin.
