It’s been three-plus years since the release of his breakthrough, Youth, and yet Matisyahu (birthname: Matthew Paul Miller) remains the world’s premiere Hasidic-Jewish reggae/dub crossover star (albeit one in a considerably limited field).
Now, with a new studio full-length, Light, due August 25, and an anthemic single, “One Day,” already burning up iTunes, the 30-year-old Brooklyn resident is dropping a exclusive track on the Music Mix; check the spare, “Escape” below:

i noticed that too! But then i just thought it was a foreign language version of the acronym…you know how they always place the adjective AFTER the noun, unlike us, who place it BEFORE the noun. Although “For” isn’t exactly an adjective. So shdwfthsun, you’re simply…..correct!

Went to your show about a year or so ago at the Verizon theater in Ca. I had a spiritual awakening. I am anxiously waiting for this new album. AWESOME track! I listened to the album on myspace and let’s just say I pre-ordered it. So glad to have new music from him especially good music I can listen to in the car with my 3 year old present.
