Skillet is the best band ever! Their lyrics ring true in such difficult times, and their music is incredible. Their live shows are spectacular, the best in christian music.
Keep on rocking, Skillet!
Good music is just good music… I’m pretty sure that Needtobreathe doesn’t even say Jesus or God in any of their lyrics on The Outsiders album (my i-tunes shows that I’ve listened to the album 24 times:)) However, this album definitely speaks to the righteous anger I feel about social injustice. As a Christian and a music lover, Needtobreathe fits me perfectly and if their music is speaking to the masses then that’s a great thing!
I am a huge fan of both Skillet and Needtobreathe. “Wash by the Water” by Needtobreathe is one of my favorite songs in the whole wide world, sometimes I will play it over and over and over. When I heard “Lay Em’ Down” on the Christian radio station I was so happy! I love this style of music and now both songs will be played over and over and over! Likewise to what was said above, their music is very uplifting and brings a smile to my face no matter what my day is like!
The biggest point for these bands (in my opinion) is that they don’t flaunt the “Christian Band” title as a matter of fact Needtobreathe does not consider themselves a Christian band, they are Christians in a band.
Both of these bands are getting a well deserved popularity this time around. I know that NEED’s popularity can be tied to a great live show as well as albums in which it is very hard for most people to pick a “favorite song”
As a fan of both from the first records (Need even further back than that) I am thrilled for both bands to be gaining this much attention.
Needtobreathe is a breath of fresh air. With moving lyrics, heart and soul, the music they produce is out of this world. I love music! I hate fluffy music that has no substance. Needtobreathe not only offers substance, but they are genuinely talented– the real deal. And they put on a rockin’ show! A must see for sure.
If I were Needtobreathe I would try to shed the “Christian” label. I’ve been really liking their newest CD but as soon as I heard they were Christian my opinion changed. It kind of made them… lame.
Sounds like trashy noise….
That skillet band, other sounds pretty decent. Little religious for my taste but I can dig it.
that just because I’m a sctihrian, I have to start listening to cheesy Jesus music. I person who is sctihrian today has to literally buy into the Christian sub-culture in order to be accepted. You have to become a mark for Matt Maher or one of the other popular bands. Why, because being a member of the Body of Christ is not enough, you have to be seen as cool or hip in order to attract the World. Unfortunately, Christian sub-cuture isn’t cool at all. In fact it’s very un-cool. And Christian rockers and rappers aren’t hard, though they try to give the impression. If a music artists who’s a Christian artist, continues to preform with the same spirit that non-christians perform with, he is not being like Christ who’s meek and humble of heart. He is a poser who now doesn’t drink, go out and watch porn; but still serves the idol of self.
