This song was on a digital EP in Europe, and available on some European iTunes outlets, but it is brand spanking NEW to the US.
EXACTLY!!!
Some people are acting like it’s an exact replica of some crap song they’ve heard 100 times a day for the last 3 months…LOL!!!
For all intents and purposes, this is now Kris’s song. The Script didn’t release it here. I’m sure they’re happy that Kris is gonna sing it!
Actually you can buy it even in Amazon…
I’m surprised to say it but that’s really good!
Well done Kris!
“And thanks so some impressive Twitter stalking and a request phone call from Canada (!) to play it a second time, it was recorded and uploaded (hundreds of us were listening to the radio’s online stream).”
Actually the caller wasn’t from Canada, she was from California.
And I LOVE LOVE LOVE the song! I’m so excited for it to be released in it’s entirety *coughSlezakcough*
It sounds like a winner to me!
This song has a nice, positive vibe for Kris — I hadn’t heard it before. Kris’ voice is so amazing that I think it will sound fantastic, just need to hear the rest. I’m so glad you like it Slezak, definitely good buzz for Kris! Yayyy!
I LOVE IT!!!
SLEAZAK GIVE ME YOUR IPOD NOW! lol
I haven’t been able to stop listening to that 23 sec snippet! I’m so glad to hear from a very trusted source that the rest of the song is just as catchy. Kris has that warm, gorgeous tone to his voice that just makes me want to listen to him over and over. He made No Boundaries seem like it was worth listening to (and it’s a tuneless mess).
The whole cover/no-cover whatever thing going on in the comments makes me roll my eyes a little. I mean, The Scripts wrote the song, they get paid when Kris uses it, I’m sure they won’t be miserable when it becomes a hit.
Looking forward to hopefully getting a lot of Kris written or co-written tracks on his CD, but not shocked that his first single isn’t one of them – he’s been so busy! Kris is amazing, but he’s not Superman!
Oh No! Not impressed! I expected more from Kris like Heartless. This is disappointing. Maybe the rest of the song gets better. Sounds like a Disney song.
I want to cry! Are they gearing him to be a teen idol? It’s catchy but not adult tasting! I sadly won’t buy it.
Wow! I am so excited for this now! I’m glad that they didn’t stick him with a boring ballad and I can totally see this as being a big hit on the radio!
Hasn’t this title been done to death? I was expecting a Jason M. sound. Maybe the whole song will be better. Slezak, we know you flove Kris but be realistic.
You haven’t heard the song in it’s entirety and Slezak has – yet YOU are trying to school HIM?
Hilarious.
Love The Script, love Kris Allen. The only way people in the States know about The Script’s version is from Youtube, as far as I know. It’s on a B-side EP that realeased in the UK, not that easily accessible. The majority of radio listeners aren’t going to know this. If your a fan of The Script’s, you should be very pleased. This is huge promotion and name recognition as well. I think linking Kris and The Script is very cool. The song is catchy, current and has something to say. All good here. I’m really happy Kris is soulful alt. rock, but I don’t think he’ll be an artist that you can “put in a box”. I have a feeling there are alot of gems on the CD. I hope the co-write with Mat Kearney made the cut. Fingers crossed.
Oh you **** you are so lucky! LOL I’m so excited, I wanna hear the full song now!
I’m so happy for Krisand I trust Jive know exactly what they are doing with him. It’s business and I believe Kris knows that too andagrees with them. I can say so far, this is the first idol winner ever to have put out such a catchy single. I’ve not stopped replaying the snippet. It’s only a few idol fans who are complaining but outside idol, this is going to be big. It’s idol fanswho upon hearing about it being a b-side track for The Script went on youtube searching. Do I think the music buying public is even aware? Not somany I believe and I don’t think they even care. If it’ good, they’ll buy it. Ilove that jive is treating Kris well. This music is so out of idoldome and it’s a very good sign for Kris!
I actually like the song and I like Kris a lot. However, having a cover as his first single is a huge mistake. He has been doing covers for the last year and to basically present him to the rest of the world with someone else’s song will only weaken opinions of him. I find it hard to believe that highly paid executives made such a crazy decision. To be honest, I hope the song does well as Kris deserves it, but the criticism is only just beginning over this. Why 19???? Why???
I’m a notorious skeptic when it comes to first Idol singles (although I loved “Crush” and “Tattoo” on the second listens) and I couldn’t breathe when I first heard this clip because it’s awesomeness took up all the air. Quickly downloaded the original. Can’t wait to hear Kris’ full version!
