Earlier this week, Miley Cyrus tweeted her last tweet (supposedly at the behest of her Last Song co-star and rumored boyfriend Liam Hemsworth), but even so, she certainly hasn’t stopped her personalized dispatches to fans. The latest is a YouTube video where Cyrus lays out exactly why she quit Twitter: “I had to say goodbye,” Miley intones, “and this little rap is to tell my fans why.”
Supposedly, the reason is because she wants to keep her personal things personal. “I want my private life private,” she raps. “I’m living for me.” Of course, it totally makes sense to want to keep things private then release a video spelling that out—and simultaneously putting yourself back on display. I mean, yeah. Or something.
And even though Miley’s final tweet on Thursday said that Hemsworth wanted her to delete her Twitter account, she responded to that in the rap by saying: “It wasn’t because my friend told me to. I stopped living for moments and started living for people.” Nice save.

Honestly Miley is not importent and i could care less what she does.

I think the problem here is that the media has plastered this “role model” image on Miley Cyrus. and she hasn’t helped her case in any way, either. She tries to play both sides. They’re both to blame. Being a role model is just setting yourself up for failure.
I just dont get this. Isnt up to her what gets posted on Twitter? Its not like shes on a webcam all day or something like that. It can be as private as she wants it to be. I don’t feel like her reasons have anything to do with anything.

I absolutely agree that her posts on twitter was completely up to her, she did not have to tell everyone who was following her what she was up to every second of the day, granted that I was not following her & had no idea what she was sharing if she felt like she is part of her private life because of twitter then she must have shared an awful lot to the people who were following her. I think this “rap” was a funny video made by an American teenage girl who has kept things in perspective and wanted to let her “fans” know in her own way that she was done on Twitter. at the end of it all, she is celebrated for her public persona on TV, movie roles and music. thats where it should end in terms of her privacy. its just that celebrities personal lives are often times more interesting than their work. so the challenge for them is to keep everyone interested in their creative side or face scrutiny for their private affairs. thats the price of fame. anti-up, double down or bow-out.
I think it was done for a combo of the boy that she likes who obviously is a controlling type of boy; his private criticism to her led her to do this to some extent. Secondly, let the kid live her life. Twitter for those of us who only have our fam and friends is a fun way to keep everyone updated on our days/lives. For stars with a million fans following it becomes a “must do” eventually. Some from of PR in the social marketing world where you HAVE to keep updating those that adore you or risk the type of backlash that the writer of this article presented today.
